Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, affirmed: “The exhibition shows the deep affection of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Ho Chi Minh City for comrade Nguyen Van Linh - a staunch communist soldier, an excellent leader, an outstanding son of the Southern citadel of the Fatherland. His revolutionary life is an epic of dedication, daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate for the benefit of the nation”.
With more than 100 valuable images and documents, the exhibition vividly summarizes the life, revolutionary career and great contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Linh to the cause of national liberation and the country's renewal.
Comrade Nguyen Van Linh held many important leadership positions during the resistance war, from Secretary of the Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh City Party Committee, Secretary of the Southern Regional Party Committee, to Member of the Central Committee of the Southern Region, directly leading the revolutionary movement in the South and making important contributions to the victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968, as well as the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975.
The exhibition also clearly depicts the outstanding marks of comrade Nguyen Van Linh during his time as Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and later as General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam . With an independent mindset and a strong spirit of innovation, he laid the foundation for the comprehensive renovation of the country, creating momentum for socio-economic development and deep international integration.
At the exhibition, Anh Thu, a student of the Faculty of Business Administration, Saigon University, shared: “When learning about the life of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, I was impressed by his steadfast leadership, great ideals and deep attachment to the South. The exhibition helps the younger generation like us understand more about the arduous journey to have the developed country today.”
Sharing the same sentiment, Pastor Tran Thanh Truyen, President of the Vietnam Seventh-day Adventist Church, said: “General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh was one of the leaders who initiated and laid the foundation for the renovation process, thereby changing the face of the country, helping the economy grow and integrate strongly into the international community. I came here to remember and pay tribute to a person who made great contributions to the nation.”
The exhibition is also an opportunity to review the simple, honest life imbued with the love of compatriots of the excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh - Comrade Nguyen Van Linh. With the ideal of "loyalty to the country, filial piety to the people", he is a shining example of revolutionary morality, respected and loved by comrades, compatriots, soldiers and international friends.
In order to show gratitude and remember his contributions, in recent years, Ho Chi Minh City has named many public works after him, notably Nguyen Van Linh High School and Nguyen Van Linh Street - the southern artery of the city, contributing to educating the revolutionary tradition and patriotism for today's and tomorrow's young generations.
The exhibition is open to the public from July 1-5, 2025, and is a key activity in the city's series of cultural and political events to celebrate the 110th birthday of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh.
