Improvement in the eastern region

Many tourists express interest in exploring and experiencing the land of Binh Duong in the East Thang Binh region. "First, Cua Khe fish sauce - second, An Phu tea," the savory flavor of the famous anchovies has built a brand for the Cua Khe fish sauce village (Binh Duong).

At Cua Khe, tourists can experience the work of the traditional craft village by participating in the stages of cleaning fresh anchovies brought from the sea, mixing the raw fish with salt for fermentation, then bottling, labeling, and selling the fish sauce…

Cua Khe craft village is located in a very favorable position for tourism development, connecting Hoi An and Da Nang; it is situated next to the Vinpearl Land Nam Hoi An and Hoiana tourist areas.

Binh Duong commune is also blessed by nature with a 4.5km long coastline featuring picturesque stretches of fine white sand and abundant seafood resources.

Despite the ups and downs of history, the seafood harvesting industry in Binh Duong still preserves the distinctive cultural features of the coastal region, such as the use of basket boats, net fishing, and trawling.

Every year in the second lunar month, coastal communities organize fishing festivals, perform traditional folk songs, and offer prayers to the patron saint of fish sauce making, hoping for favorable weather, calm seas, and expressing gratitude for the merits of their ancestors and the founders of the craft who have passed it down to the present day.

Ms. Phan Thi Nhi, Vice Chairman of the Thang Binh District People's Committee, said that in recent times, the tourism industry and tourism service establishments in the district have disseminated the criteria for green tourism and the code of conduct for tourism to build a safe and attractive tourism environment. Tourists have had a good impression of the attractions. Thang Binh continues to develop a tour and route management system, creating a friendly environment to expand tourism potential and facilitate visitors in exploring and experiencing the area.

In Binh Duong, tourists also have the opportunity to visit and learn about the glorious history of this land, which has been honored many times for its heroic deeds in both the struggle against invaders and the building of the homeland.

This area boasts 12 provincial-level historical sites, including the legendary Bau Binh base, a reminder of the unwavering revolutionary spirit of "not giving up an inch, not retreating a millimeter."

From Binh Duong, numerous routes branch out to various tourist areas in the eastern part of Thang Binh district in particular, and Quang Nam province in general.

Notable examples include the Bình Minh coastal tourism sector, which is "awakening" day by day with various types of beaches, resorts, rural tourism, experiencing the tranquil urban space, and enjoying unique cuisine. Or visitors can come to Bình Đào commune to enjoy the fragrant aroma of Trà Đõa sweet potatoes...

The western region beckons.

These days, people from all over flock to the Ho Thac eco-tourism site in Binh Phu commune to immerse themselves in the cool stream, chat, and enjoy the freshness of nature.

The natural beauty of western Thang Binh attracts tourists.

The Ho Thac waterfall stretches nearly 3km from its summit bordering Tien Son commune (Tien Phuoc district) down to Binh Phu commune. For a long time, this natural waterfall has been deserted, overgrown with weeds. In 2023, Binh Phu commune, as part of its advanced new rural development program, began exploring the ecotourism potential of Ho Thac.

Local authorities, associations, organizations, the Fatherland Front, and the people have worked tirelessly, enduring hardships of sun and rain, to build roads, invest in landscaping and greenery, and arrange rest areas and sanitary facilities. Ho Thac has attracted many tourists, and surrounding households have gained additional livelihoods from serving food and providing services.

Also in Binh Phu commune, many tourists are delighted to visit the provincial-level historical site of the Thang Binh District Party Committee Base. By learning about the historical site, visitors can imagine how the forests here once sheltered generations of revolutionary activists during the difficult period of 1964-1975. The people gathered cassava, sweet potatoes, and other food supplies to feed the soldiers fighting the enemy, defending their villages, and protecting the country.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Head of the Culture and Sports Department of Thang Binh district, the western part of the district still boasts many scenic spots that attract tourists, such as Cao Ngan Lake, Phuoc Ha Lake, Dong Tien Lake, Ho Cam Lake, Ho Thac Lake, Ly Ly Stream, etc., alongside endless rice fields and orchards laden with fruit.

When visiting the western part of Thang Binh district, tourists can visit and learn about the Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery (Binh Dinh Bac commune), a special national historical site. Although it is only a ruin, this site holds many mysteries about a glorious era of the Champa Kingdom. The Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery is currently receiving attention from relevant authorities and local governments for protection, archaeological research, and preservation, promising to be an attractive destination for tourists in the near future.
