On the occasion of Workers' Month 2023 and the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, on the morning of May 20, the Industry Union and the Youth Union of the Department of Health coordinated with medical units in the province to organize a program to examine, provide free medicine and give gifts to people in Ky Phu commune (Ky Anh district). Doctors and nurses directly examined, prescribed, and dispensed free medicine, while providing knowledge and disease prevention skills to 250 people, including war invalids and sick soldiers; people with revolutionary contributions; policy families; the elderly; the poor; and families in difficult circumstances. The team’s doctors and nurses directly examined internal organs, performed ultrasounds, performed electrocardiograms, measured blood pressure, etc., and at the same time, disseminated and instructed people on basic knowledge about health care, prevention, and early detection of common diseases. From this medical examination program, many cases were detected and were advised to be transferred to higher levels for treatment. In addition to providing free medical examinations and medicine, the delegation also presented 30 gifts to wounded soldiers and people with meritorious services in the area (each gift worth 500,000 VND) and 50 traditional ao dai to the Women's Union of Phu Hai village.
The program of medical examination, free medicine distribution and gift giving to people is an annual activity of the health sector. This is a meaningful social activity, promoting the spirit of volunteering for community health. Through that, it has helped and shared difficulties and medical expenses for the poor, those with meritorious services and families with preferential policies.
