The forum was divided into three sessions with 22 presentations. Scientists and delegates exchanged results and experiences in scientific research to strengthen and enhance the close relationship between Vietnam, Laos, and China, which are facing many challenges and opportunities in the new era.
All the presentations affirmed that Marxist theory plays a crucial role in the history of human society and remains vibrant and influential in the 21st century. Many countries, political parties, and socio-economic movements have been and are applying Marxist theory as a guiding principle for their activities.
The discussions also emphasized that only by developing more advanced, modern, and efficient productive forces than the capitalist system can the elements and conditions for advancing towards socialism be built. The Party and Government of Vietnam, Laos, and China have applied Marxist theory as a guiding light and compass in protecting and developing their countries, gradually advancing along the path of socialism according to the characteristics and features of each nation.
Speaking at the forum, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Minh Tuan, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, stated that specific social models built on the theoretical foundation of Marxism share a common characteristic: a high degree of adaptability, capable of meeting the stringent demands of reality. Socialism is not only a path to material prosperity, but also aims towards a harmonious and sustainable society where people share, cooperate, live in harmony, and are friendly to their surroundings.

The tremendous achievements in economic development, addressing social development issues, and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people in Vietnam, Laos, and China over the past two decades are clear evidence of the correctness and vibrant vitality of Marxism in the 21st century. This forum is not only an opportunity for the three countries to review their achievements, but also a chance for them to jointly chart their future direction from a theoretical standpoint.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Ta Minh Tuan, the dedicated research and analysis at all three discussion sessions provided a fresh and realistic perspective on the development of Marxism and socialism in the modern era. The scientists discussed not only the successes but also many challenges facing Laos, China, and Vietnam, suggesting solutions to further revitalize Marxism in the 21st century.
He believes the Forum will further promote the study of Marxism, while continuing to affirm and strengthen the firm position of Marxism in the common theoretical treasury of humanity. The results from the forum will be compiled and sent to the policy-making bodies of each country, thereby contributing to guiding policies and decisions on harmonious and sustainable socio-economic development in each nation.
