Speaking at the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that the program has created conditions and opportunities for students of the two countries to become more closely connected, to gain a deeper understanding of the beautiful cultural values of each nation; and at the same time to learn about the long history of friendly relations, thereby continuing to promote and strengthen bilateral relations even further.
The Ambassador emphasized that, over the years, Vietnam has supported Laos in implementing its socio-economic development plans in each stage. Vietnam has assisted Laos in training human resources at all levels and in all sectors, from the pre-liberation period to the present day, with the scale and number steadily increasing. Currently, more than 10,000 Lao students and trainees are studying in short-term and long-term training programs in Vietnam, many of whom are studying at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy Nguyen Manh Dong emphasized that younger generations, especially students, need to better understand the history of Vietnam-Laos relations; and at the same time, have the responsibility to contribute to, nurture, and develop this special relationship in the future, worthy of the relationship described as "deeper than the Red River and the Mekong River."
The event contributed to helping Vietnamese and Lao students gain a deeper understanding of each country's culture and history, especially the history of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries from the past to the present. According to him, students from both countries will be the key players in building and nurturing the future of Vietnam-Laos relations in the coming time.

Phetnakhone Soulivongsack, Head of the Lao student delegation at the Diplomatic Academy, believes that through today's event, each student will become more aware of the responsibilities of the young generation of Laos and Vietnam, inheriting the traditions of their ancestors, promoting the spirit of solidarity, and further developing the relationship between the two countries.
"For every Lao student like me, studying in Vietnam is a great honor. We are not only equipped with professional knowledge and skills, but also receive care and support from Vietnamese teachers and fellow students. This makes us feel that Vietnam is truly our second home," said Phetnakhone Soulivongsack.

Pham Anh Duc, a student representative from the Diplomatic Academy, shared that as a history enthusiast, he had learned and heard stories about the special solidarity between the Party, State, and people of Vietnam and Laos since his high school years. The vivid stories and symbols of the selfless and sincere assistance that Vietnam and Laos have given each other, from the past to the present, have left a deep impression on him.
Four years of studying at the Diplomatic Academy – a school with many Lao students – has provided students with the opportunity to meet, chat, and interact with their Lao friends, thereby learning more about, understanding, and further appreciating the country, culture, and people of Laos.

The Vietnam-Laos Student Cultural Exchange Festival offers a vibrant and experiential atmosphere with a variety of activities, including: a photo exhibition titled "Colors of Vietnam-Laos Students," showcasing meaningful moments of friendship between students from both countries; performances of Vietnamese and Lao traditional arts and costumes; and cultural experiences such as culinary arts, handicrafts, and traditional folk games characteristic of both nations.
