This clearly demonstrated the special attention and decisive direction of the Party and State towards the work of protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people in the new development stage, with the goal of comprehensively improving the physical and mental health, stature, and life expectancy of the people.

According to Resolution No. 72, from 2026, people will receive free periodic health check-ups or screenings at least once a year, and will have electronic health records created to manage their health throughout their lifecycle, gradually reducing the burden of healthcare costs.

By 2030, Vietnam aims to increase the average height of children and adolescents by at least 1.5 cm; raise average life expectancy to 75.5 years, including 68 years lived in good health.

The vision for 2045 aims for an average life expectancy of over 80 years, on par with developed countries in the region; a reduction in the burden of disease and control of health-related risk factors; a vaccination rate of over 95% for vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program; a 10% increase in the percentage of people regularly participating in physical activity; and enhanced control of health-related risk factors such as alcohol, tobacco, and environmental factors from soil, water, and air.
