On April 1st, the head of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health announced that 10 students in the province had been hospitalized due to food poisoning.
Initial information indicates that the students ate chicken rice on March 30th and 31st, after which they developed symptoms and received treatment at four hospitals. They all shared the commonality of having eaten chicken rice from street vendors in front of the school gate.

Authorities are currently coordinating an investigation into the incident. The task force has visited hospitals to investigate the patients' epidemiology, identify the food vendors, and collect food samples.
The People's Committee of Nha Trang City also directed an inspection of food safety issues throughout the city, especially at boarding schools.
