Inauguration of the Bac Ha Regional Medical Center

After nearly five years of construction, the Bac Ha Regional Medical Center, with a capacity of 250 beds, has been officially completed and put into operation, contributing to improving the capacity for medical examination and treatment, and meeting the increasing healthcare needs of people in the Bac Ha highland area and neighboring localities.

On May 23rd, Bac Ha commune, Lao Cai province, held the inauguration ceremony for the Bac Ha Regional Medical Center. Attending the ceremony were Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Lao Cai Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Vu Quynh Khanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council; Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Council; leaders of provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of local officials and residents.

The Bac Ha Regional Medical Center is being invested in during the period 2021-2026, with a total investment of 253 billion VND. The project is being built on an area of ​​over 5.1 hectares, with a total construction area of ​​approximately 18,500 m², and a capacity of 250 beds.

The project comprises many integrated components such as: administrative area, medical examination and treatment area, inpatient treatment area, emergency and intensive care unit, diagnostic imaging area, along with a system of technical infrastructure, exterior and interior design, and modern medical equipment.

Mr. Bui Minh Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Ha commune, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Bac Ha is the economic, political , and cultural center of the Bac Ha region. Along with socio-economic development, the demand for healthcare and health protection among the people is growing.

The commissioning of the Bac Ha Regional Health Center not only contributes to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment but also demonstrates the concern of the Party and the State for social welfare and healthcare for ethnic minorities in mountainous areas.

The completed project will help people in Bac Ha commune and surrounding areas access high-quality medical services right in their locality, reducing the difficulties, costs, and time spent on referrals to lower-level medical facilities. At the same time, the project will contribute to reducing the burden on provincial hospitals and gradually improving the grassroots healthcare network in mountainous areas.
