On the morning of September 20, continuing the working program in Dak Nong , the working delegation of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council led by Mr. Quang Van Huong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, had a working session in Dak Glong district.
The delegation conducted a survey on the implementation of policies and laws on land allocation, forest allocation, forest protection and development associated with creating stable livelihoods and improving the lives of ethnic minority communities and households in mountainous areas in Dak Glong district, period 2019 - 2023.

In the period 2019 - 2023, Dak Glong district allocated land and forest for protection of 4,507 hectares to 190 households and 2 bon communities. Forest management boards in the area have allocated more than 3,996 hectares to 186 households.
Dak Glong district has spent more than 17 billion VND on land allocation, forest allocation and forest protection management contracting during this period. The forest protection contracting policy has created jobs for 224 workers each year, with an average income of 18 million VND/year/worker.

Policy implementation still faces many challenges, such as fragmented forest areas, inconsistent allocation, and insufficient funding to support forest protection.
Forest management units have not effectively implemented production linkage models according to value chains on contracted land and forest areas.
At the survey, the People's Committee of Dak Glong district recommended reviewing and adjusting policies on land and forest allocation to increase financial support and mechanisms for sustainable forest development, ensuring the livelihoods of local people.

Mr. Quang Van Huong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, concluded that forest allocation in the locality is still limited, so people have not benefited, and requested that the locality pay attention.

To carry out forest allocation, localities need to arrange forces to manage and protect forests, measure forest land areas, and delimit specific areas to effectively implement land and forest allocation...
