The exam period, marked by many innovations, has come to an end.

On June 27th, candidates participating in the 2025 high school graduation exam completed their final subjects, concluding a rigorous and safe examination conducted in the spirit of innovation. To proactively carry out the next tasks in the transition to a two-tiered local government model, the Department of Education and Training (GD-ĐT) is urgently implementing the necessary work according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The new curriculum has a high difficulty level, while the old curriculum is of a more manageable level.

On the morning of June 27th, over 14,400 candidates in the province took the elective exam, the final exam of the 2025 high school graduation exam for candidates following the 2018 General Education Program (the new program). The exam consisted of two subjects from the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, and Foreign Language (candidates in the province took English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean). Informatics, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, and Economics and Law Education were new subjects, being tested for the first time. The exams were in multiple-choice format, with correct/false and short answer options. This year, elective exam rooms were not arranged by subject; each candidate took the exam in a fixed room to minimize movement between exam sessions. Therefore, a single examination room may contain multiple different subjects; each subject has 48 different test codes instead of the previous 24. This is a technical solution to ensure that candidates sitting near each other do not have the same test code.

According to many candidates, the exam had a higher level of difficulty than in previous years, with about 50-70% of the questions focusing on basic knowledge, while also including some difficult questions requiring practical application. The English exam, in particular, was considered relatively long and showed a clear differentiation in difficulty levels. Candidate Pham Van Vuong from Nha Trang College of Technology said: “I took the History and Geography exams. I found that about 60% of the questions were basic knowledge, closely aligned with the curriculum and relevant to real-world situations.” Candidate Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh from Le Thanh Ton High School (Nha Trang City) said: “I took the English, Economics and Law Education exams. I did relatively well, but the English exam had many new and unfamiliar vocabulary words, and some difficult questions I couldn't answer.”

For the 2006 General Education Program (the old program), candidates took the Natural Sciences or Social Sciences combined exam on the morning of June 27th, and the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon. A total of 164 candidates took the Physics and History exams; 168 candidates took the Chemistry and Geography exams; 46 candidates took the Biology and Civic Education exams; and 79 candidates took the Foreign Language exam (78 candidates took English, and 1 candidate took Chinese). The exams were multiple-choice. The exam questions were considered to be of moderate difficulty. Candidate Trieu Vy, a high school graduate in 2024 and currently a student at Nha Trang University, said: “This year I retook the exam to apply for the Economics major at the University of Finance and Marketing (Ho Chi Minh City). I found the English exam relatively easy, not difficult to score above 7 points.”

Proactively develop grading methods.

Mr. Vo Hoan Hai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of the Department of Education and Training, stated that thanks to the close guidance of the Provincial People's Committee, thorough preparation, and good coordination among departments, agencies, units, and localities, the organization of the exams at 35 testing sites throughout the province over two days was carried out smoothly and safely. The exam situation was stable and serious, with no cases of candidates or invigilators violating the regulations. After the exam, the Department of Education and Training proactively implemented plans in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, and regularly coordinated with the Ninh Thuan Provincial Department of Education and Training to carry out subsequent tasks to ensure the effective grading of exams in the context of the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units.

Accordingly, it is expected that two examination paper assignment committees, two grading committees, and two review committees will be established before June 30th, based on the current administrative units. Priority will be given to personnel not subject to reassignment or rotation due to the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units, in order to minimize changes during task implementation. Simultaneously, the Provincial Examination Steering Committee, the examination council, and its committees (examination paper assignment committee, grading committee, review committee) will be restructured as soon as the new provincial government officially begins operations on July 1st to lead and direct the examination activities at the local level, ensuring smooth operation without any gaps. The examination council committees will operate according to the "four on-site" principle: on-site leadership and direction; on-site personnel; on-site facilities and equipment; and on-site logistics and finance. The preferential treatment for candidates from remote areas, ethnic minorities, etc., will remain unchanged and will not be affected.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam will be announced at 8:00 AM on July 16th.
