This morning, June 14th, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the cutoff scores for the talent-based admission method. However, the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence major (major code IT-E10) remains the top-scoring major, with a cutoff score of 104.58 points (above the maximum threshold of 110 points); last year, the cutoff score for this major was 98.42.
Comparing the cutoff scores of the 21 highest-scoring majors in the talent-based admission method at Hanoi University of Science and Technology this year and last year.
All 64 majors saw an increase in their cutoff scores compared to last year, with the smallest increase being 0.89 points (though only a few majors experienced slight increases), while most majors saw increases of 1 point or more. Notably, a number of majors increased by as much as ten points, with many experiencing dramatic increases (up 20 points compared to last year, all in the information technology field).
Besides the top-ranked IT-E10 major, the remaining positions in the top 5 highest-scoring majors all belong to the field of information technology, including:
Computer Science (IT1) 103.89 points (an increase of 13.72 points).
Global ICT (IT-E7) Information Technology scored 102.67 points (an increase of 20.67 points).
Cyber Security (IT-E15) scored 102.6 points (an increase of 20.56 points).
Computer Engineering (IT2) scored 98.3 points (an increase of 12.95 points).
These are also the top 5 majors with the highest admission scores for talent-based programs in 2023.
Particularly in 2024, several new majors emerged with high admission scores (above 90 points), reflecting the trend of future job demand, including: the group of majors related to microchips and semiconductors (MS2); the group of majors related to health science and technology (ET2, ET-E5, CH-E11); and the group of majors related to logistics and business analysis (EM-E13, EM-E14).
