On the morning of May 31, the Department of Science and Technology held a ceremony to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18, 2013 - May 18, 2023), and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Science and Technology (June 6, 1978 - June 6, 2023).
Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Tan; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha; and representatives of departments, branches, units and localities in the province.

Over the past 45 years, Science and Technology (S&T) activities in the province have been increasingly specialized, closely linked with the task of socio -economic development, contributing to improving people's lives. Specifically, the team of S&T staff has been increasingly specialized, improved in quantity and quality; the socialization of S&T has been focused on with over 50 domestic and foreign partners; there have been 550 scientific research topics and nearly 60 rural mountainous projects, urgent S&T tasks, independent state-level experimental production projects, projects under the Intellectual Property Development Program researched and implemented in the province... The transfer and application of S&T advances to life are increasingly diverse in content and expanded to remote areas, ethnic minority areas; focusing on improving the stages of harvesting, preliminary processing, and preserving agricultural products...

In addition, the management of quality measurement standards, guidance on establishing intellectual property rights, and radiation safety management in the area are increasingly becoming systematic: over 2,000 Vietnamese Standards and 1,200 Industry Standards have been disseminated; more than 40 enterprises have been awarded the Vietnam Quality Award; nearly 2,700 applications have been registered for intellectual property protection, and 1,333 protection certificates have been granted...
In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will continue to innovate its organizational structure; strengthen domestic and foreign cooperation in research activities, transfer of science and technology into practice to serve the development of the province...

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Ha acknowledged and praised the contributions of the science and technology sector to the economic, cultural and social development of the province. He emphasized: The science and technology revolution in the globalization period has been taking place strongly, affecting each field and locality. Therefore, the science and technology sector needs to proactively approach in a direction suitable to the actual conditions of the province; effectively implement Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU dated January 13, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on science and technology development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030; promote the strength of solidarity, closely coordinate with sectors, accompany scientists, research facilities, and application of science and technology inside and outside the province so that science and technology activities can develop further, making worthy contributions to the future development of the province...

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to the Department of Science and Technology and 7 individuals who had outstanding achievements in science, technology and innovation activities contributing to the socio-economic development of Dak Lak province (2013 - 2023 period); the Department of Science and Technology awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 groups (Department Office, Science Management Department, Technical Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality), 7 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of science and technology activities in the 2013 - 2023 period.
