Unleashing the power of the people in urban development.

"Even if something is ten times easier, without the people's support, nothing can be achieved; even if something is a thousand times harder, with the people's support, everything can be accomplished," President Ho Chi Minh's teaching is being vividly demonstrated in Ea Kao ward, Dak Lak province.

The campaign "For urban and village affairs, even valuable land is donated" launched by the ward has been mobilizing the people's strength in urban development. When the Party's will aligns with the people's will, meters of prime land, once considered "as precious as gold," have been voluntarily donated by residents to pave the way for "urban and village affairs."

The path of the Party's will and the people's aspirations.

Nearly a year after the merger, Ea Kao ward is undergoing significant transformation, possessing ample room for development. Over the past period, the local area has seen considerable improvement. Many infrastructure and transportation projects have been effectively implemented thanks to the substantial contributions of the people who have donated land and assets on their land.

However, Ea Kao ward still faces many "bottlenecks" in development such as: inconsistent infrastructure, inefficient land exploitation, and difficulties in securing public investment resources... Based on this reality, Ea Kao ward launched the campaign "For city and village affairs, even valuable land is donated" to help solve the problem of land clearance, awaken the sense of responsibility of the people in proactively working with the government to anticipate development projects and jointly build and develop the locality.

The campaign received a positive response from the people and organizations and individuals. Ms. Ho Thi Minh Thao's family, residing in residential group 1, Ea Kao ward, voluntarily donated approximately 28 square meters of land along the road from the Kao hamlet intersection to the Ea Kao lake shore. Ms. Thao explained that state resources are limited, and in this context, each citizen contributing a little – land, money, or property – is like adding another brick to build their homeland. When infrastructure is completed and the homeland becomes more beautiful, the value of people's lives and land is also enhanced, leading to a happier life.

Similarly, Pho Hien Pagoda also voluntarily donated land for the local authorities to build a pedestrian street. Venerable Thich Phuoc Huyen, Abbot of Pho Hien Pagoda, shared that the pedestrian street project will be a useful space for the people, benefiting not only the residents of Ea Kao but also those in neighboring communes and wards. Furthermore, the construction of the pedestrian street will promote local tourism development and contribute to improving the lives of the people; therefore, the Buddhists were very happy and voluntarily donated the land.

To support individuals and organizations donating land for urban and village development, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Planning Department of Ea Kao ward provides maximum assistance in processing applications, updating land use right certificates, and the ward covers all related costs. This is a practical recognition and support from the government for the noble deeds of the people.

Learn from Uncle Ho by being close to the people.

In practice, in Ea Kao ward, even before the launch of the "For the city and village, even valuable land is donated" campaign, many roads had already been concreted and many sturdy bridges built thanks to the contributions of the people. The donated valuable land, the repositioning of fences, and the replacement of temporary bridges are also testaments to the local Party committee and government's commitment to being close to the people, listening to their concerns, speaking in a way the people understand, and earning their trust.

For example, in residential area 5, in January 2026, the Party branch mobilized residents to donate land to expand the road and contribute money to reinforce 200 meters of Ong Ich Khiem road. With investment from the Ward People's Committee, residents also contributed money to complete the new bridge on this road. Currently, the Party branch has continued to mobilize nearly 500 million VND from social contributions to concrete 500 meters of road leading to the cemetery.

Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Ha, from residential group 5, Ea Kao ward, shared: "With both a new road and a new bridge, the people of Ong Ich Khiem street were very happy and joyful during the recent Lunar New Year of the Horse. Ms. Ha's family donated land, contributed money, and helped build the road. Seeing the people and soldiers working together to build the road was very uplifting, strengthening the bonds of community and the relationship between the military and the people."

As a Party member, lawyer Duong Le Son (residential group 5, Ea Kao ward) said that his family voluntarily and proactively donated land and contributed labor and money to build roads in the spirit of "Party members lead the way, the people follow." According to Mr. Son, the campaign "For neighborhood and village affairs, even valuable land is donated" is a new model and a good approach that needs to be replicated in other communities, helping to strengthen solidarity and maximize the role of the people as the main actors in jointly building their homeland.

Sharing the "secret" of mobilizing the people to create successful projects in the area, Nguyen Xuan Thinh, Secretary of the Party Branch of Residential Group 5 (Ea Kao Ward), emphasized the motto "do everything that benefits the people, and avoid everything that harms the people." The Party Branch went "from street to street, knocking on every door," explaining to the people the benefits of donating land for road construction. In addition, during the mobilization and implementation of road construction, the Party Branch ensured that the people were informed, consulted, participated in the work, and monitored the process. All contributions were recorded, and the list was publicly disclosed, with clear and transparent accounting. As a result, the Party Branch's approach gained the people's consensus, trust, and enthusiastic participation in the movements.

With 26 ethnic groups living together, 10 out of 25 ethnic minority villages, and picturesque landscapes, Ea Kao ward is striving to become a key tourist destination in the western region of Dak Lak province. In the coming time, the ward is calling for investment in projects such as golf courses, villa complexes, supermarkets, tourism products at Ea Kao Lake, and a system of homestays and farmstays…

According to Dang Gia Duan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ea Kao Ward, the Party Committee has directed the public disclosure and transparency of all planning and lists of organizations and individuals donating land and assets on the land. In addition, the ward will promptly encourage and reward organizations and individuals who donate land and assets to create a ripple effect. Currently, many organizations and individuals in the ward have registered to donate land and assets for projects passing through the area. In particular, some individuals and organizations have registered to donate land in a "waiting state" for future projects. These are noble gestures, forming a foundation for the ward to believe that the projects will be completed as expected.

The roads and bridges bearing the names "Party's will, people's hearts" demonstrate that the campaign "Even valuable land is donated for the city and village" is a good and effective way to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style in Ea Kao ward. These "bricks"—made of earth, money, and the people's labor—will contribute to building a modern, civilized, compassionate, and distinctive Ea Kao city.
