Building Party branches worthy of being the "nucleus" of leadership.

President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed, "The Party branch is the root of the Party among the masses. If the Party branch is good, then all the Party's policies will be implemented well, and all work will progress continuously." Imbued with his ideology, Party branches in Can Tho City focus on leadership and strive to build clean and strong Party branches, worthy of being the "nucleus" for comprehensively leading political tasks in agencies and units.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh, Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Thoi Thanh area, Thoi Long ward, for many years, the Party Branch has strengthened its political and ideological work. Resolutions, directives, regulations, and conclusions of the Party and higher-level Party committees are thoroughly disseminated and implemented by the Party Committee to all 15 Party members; and propaganda is organized among union members, association members, and the people. Each year, the Party Branch admits 1-2 new Party members.

In addition, the Party Branch seriously implemented the work of Party building and rectification, combined with promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style through the annual commitments of the Party Committee and Party members, and monitoring the results of implementation through self-criticism and criticism at monthly meetings as well as the year-end review of Party members. Mr. NVD, a Party member of the local Party Branch, shared: "Previously, I occasionally missed Party Branch meetings for unjustified reasons. Through self-criticism and criticism at Party Branch meetings, from the end of 2025 until now, I have overcome my shortcomings."

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Thoi Thanh Party Branch have been enhanced. Over the past five years, the Party Branch has consistently achieved and exceeded all 15 assigned targets annually. This includes directing support for residents to renovate and cultivate 197 hectares of high-income fruit orchards; and directing the upgrading of 4,500 meters of roads to 3-4 meters wide, and the construction of two traffic bridges… From 2020-2023 and in 2025, the Party Branch was assessed by the Ward Party Committee as having excellently fulfilled its nhiệm vụ (tasks/duties).

The Party cell of Tan Hung hamlet, Chau Thanh commune, has been assessed as having excellently completed its tasks in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2025. According to Mr. Le Van Tri, Secretary of the Party cell and Head of the Front Committee of the hamlet, to achieve these results, the Party cell committee consistently performs well in political and ideological work; strictly manages Party members; and promotes self-criticism and criticism in regular Party cell meetings. At the same time, it regularly inspects and supervises, promptly correcting and rectifying cases of decline in awareness and actions. Party member development work is carried out comprehensively, with at least one new member admitted each year. The total number of Party members in the Party cell is currently 26.

Every year, the Party Branch directs the implementation of assigned targets and tasks, achieving and exceeding them. Over the past five years, the Party Branch has directed the provision of loans totaling 4 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank to people for production and business; and directed the mobilization of resources to contribute to and support the construction of 10 "Great Solidarity" houses. Each year, it mobilizes over 3 tons of rice to donate to poor and disadvantaged households. The Party Branch also directed the mobilization of people to donate 8,000 square meters of land to expand and pave over 4,000 meters of roads in the hamlet with concrete, and install streetlights along 1,600 meters of road…

Party committees and organizations in the city have always paid attention to and effectively implemented the work of building clean and strong party branches. In 2025, out of 4,594 party branches assessed for quality, 4,495 branches completed their tasks well, of which 16.93% completed their tasks excellently.
