Launching the Web3 and AI technology idea competition, with a prize of 100 million VND | Digitalization | Finance

VBI Academy, GFI Ventures, and TechFest Vietnam Blockchain Hub have just announced the launch of the Web3 & AI Ideathon competition.

This is a nationwide creative playground for groundbreaking ideas in the fields of Web3 and Artificial Intelligence.

Every tech unicorn starts with simple ideas. With Web3 and AI technologies booming in Vietnam, this is an opportunity for young tech enthusiasts to showcase their innovative ideas.

The competition is part of Web3 HackFest 2025 - the largest Web3 technology event series in Southeast Asia, aiming to promote the development of the blockchain and AI ecosystem in Vietnam, and in response to the National Strategy on Blockchain Development according to Decision 1236/QD-TTg.

Mr. Pham Huong, Co-Founder of VBI Academy, shared: "Vietnamese people are fully capable of creating groundbreaking technology products of international caliber. What is needed is an environment where young people can freely express their creativity, receive proper guidance and support. Web3 & AI Ideathon is the place to nurture those ideas."

Students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology enthusiastically participated in the competition.

A unique aspect of the competition is its open application scope, encompassing education , healthcare, finance, entertainment, and e-commerce. Any idea that harnesses the potential of Web3 and AI technology has a chance to shine. Participants aged 18 and above can enter individually or in teams (up to 5 members), with no limit on the number of projects submitted.

In addition to the cash prize of 100 million VND, participants will also receive many attractive benefits. To provide the best conditions for contestants, the competition is divided into 3 rounds from December 4, 2024 to March 1, 2025.

Riley Tran, Director of Avail Global Ecosystem and a Web3 expert in Vietnam, representing the professional support and investment team, stated: "We are not only looking for great ideas but also want to support young people in turning those ideas into reality. Outstanding teams will have the opportunity to receive investment and develop their products for commercialization."

In particular, outstanding teams will have the opportunity to participate in the Web3 HackFest international finals in May 2025, competing for prizes up to 3.5 billion VND. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese technology talents to interact, learn, and prove themselves on the international stage.
