On the morning of December 19th, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, in collaboration with Tien Phong Newspaper, organized a seminar titled "Khanh Hoa Tourism – A Growth Pole Driving Economic Pillars" at Champa Island Nha Trang – Resort Hotel & Spa.
The workshop is expected to create a forum for connecting management agencies, experts, and businesses to guide the development of tourism in Khanh Hoa in the new phase. The workshop attracted the participation of many experts and scientists from universities.
Notably, the event featured Dr. Alexander H. Kaufman – a leading international expert on ESG and sustainable development, Senior Advisor to Global Standards (Asia), and expert from UNDP and ILO. His participation brought global and modern perspectives to Khánh Hòa's tourism development strategy.
With over 20 years of experience advising governments and multinational corporations, Dr. Kaufman emphasizes that adopting ESG (environmental, social, and governance) standards is not only an inevitable trend but also a key to the sustainable development of Khanh Hoa tourism, enhancing its competitiveness and gradually reaching international standards.
ESG is used to assess the sustainability and social responsibility of businesses, not only based on financial aspects but also considering the impact on the environment, people, and internal management practices. It helps businesses attract investment, manage risks, and enhance their reputation and brand.

Experts from both within and outside the country participated in the workshop, bringing with them valuable experience.
The workshop focused on discussing many important issues such as the current situation and solutions for the development of tourism in Khanh Hoa province in the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045; strategies for diversifying products and making tourism a new growth pole; building a regional tourism brand linking coastal and island areas to ecological and cultural tourism; promoting digital transformation and developing green tourism associated with nature conservation.
Mr. Cung Quynh Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, shared: Resolution No. 01, dated July 14, 2025, of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee sets a target of double-digit economic growth, identifying tourism and services as one of the four pillars driving development, creating a ripple effect for other economic sectors. Khanh Hoa strives to welcome approximately 31.6 million visitors, including 10.5 million international visitors.
Currently, the province has formed a diverse and distinctive cultural and heritage space with 4 UNESCO-listed heritage sites; it also has many special national monuments, intangible cultural heritage sites, and a rich marine and island ecosystem.

Ponagar Tower has been recognized as a Special National Monument.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, affirmed that in order to develop tourism commensurate with its potential, the province needs to implement comprehensive solutions in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 01-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on the goal of double-digit economic growth in the period 2025 - 2030.
According to Mr. Bien, Khanh Hoa needs to focus on attracting large-scale, high-class tourism projects; developing unique and distinctive tourism products; investing in upgrading infrastructure and high-quality services; accelerating the progress of key tourism projects; strengthening digital transformation and training high-quality tourism human resources. In addition, developing the night-time economy and a chain of culinary, shopping, and entertainment services are also considered important drivers to increase the attractiveness of the destination.

Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, delivered a speech.
From a management perspective, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, believes that Khanh Hoa is facing a historic opportunity to become a national tourism growth hub and rise to the top group of destinations in Southeast Asia.
To realize this goal, the province needs to focus on adjusting the planning of modern tourism infrastructure, especially seaports; developing innovative and experiential tourism products; improving market access capacity and applying technology in management and promotion.
The workshop also included a panel discussion on the topic "Khanh Hoa Tourism After the Merger – A New Growth Pole Driving Double-Digit Growth".
There is a consensus that the period from 2025 to 2030 is crucial, requiring Khanh Hoa to position tourism as a key economic sector, playing a leading role in spreading and creating momentum for the development of other economic pillars.

Khanh Hoa province is increasing its capacity to welcome winter tourists to compensate for the shortage of domestic tourists in the last months of the year.
Mr. Nguyen Long Bien also requested the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association to strengthen linkages and cooperation with tourism associations in other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Lam Dong, Da Nang, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai to promote and develop tourism products; and to collaborate in exploiting tours that attract international tourists from key markets such as Russia, Europe, South Korea, China, India, Japan, and winter holiday tours.
Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, Cam Ranh International Airport, and tourism service businesses are required to proactively innovate products and improve service quality; increase the opening of new routes and maintain the frequency of regular international flights to connect Khanh Hoa with major markets; and cooperate with the province in promoting and contributing to building the image of Khanh Hoa as a civilized, friendly, and attractive destination.
