For over 10 years, Mr. Pham Van Nam, Head of the Engineering Team at Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (Gian Khau Industrial Park), has strived to improve his professional skills, stay close to the realities of his work, and successfully complete his assigned tasks. During his time there, he has developed numerous solutions and initiatives to enhance production efficiency, increase labor productivity, and create a safe working environment. Notably, his initiative, "Programming a training program for the tire pressure gauge gun for the Creta (Su2id) vehicle line," is a technical solution that has helped the company optimize its production process and earned him the Creative Labor Award from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023.
Speaking about his initiative, Mr. Nam said: “Previously, wheel alignment was done manually, which was time-consuming and labor-intensive. Although the company had invested in automated equipment, programming the operation for the new vehicle line required hiring foreign experts at a high cost. Recognizing this limitation, I proactively researched and programmed the software for the automatic wheel alignment gun. After implementation, the equipment operates stably and ensures high accuracy.” Mr. Nam's initiative has helped the company save over 1.1 billion VND in foreign expert fees. In addition to cost reduction, the initiative has also contributed to increased labor productivity, reduced manpower, supported training, and shortened programming time for the new vehicle line.
At the Trade Union of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement is always vibrant and widespread with many practical and meaningful contents.
According to Mr. Pham Thanh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, the leadership and the grassroots trade union always recognize that creativity is the key factor creating core value for the sustainable development of the enterprise. Therefore, encouraging and motivating employees to develop initiatives and technical improvements is always emphasized. The company has developed a specific emulation plan, in which each unit must have at least one initiative on occupational safety, one initiative to improve product quality, and honor one outstanding employee each week. Thanks to this systematic and scientific approach, the company records thousands of initiatives of all sizes each year, including hundreds that bring in hundreds of billions of dong in benefits to the enterprise.
Mr. Tuan also added that not only valuable initiatives that bring significant benefits are recognized, but also small, practical improvements that help enhance work efficiency in each position and department are highly valued and promptly rewarded. This is how the company inspires creativity in each engineer and worker, giving them more motivation to continuously develop their personal abilities and contribute to the overall development of the business.
According to the Provincial Industrial Zone Trade Union, the "Excellent Worker, Creative Worker" emulation movement has spread strongly in many enterprises in the area. Over the past five years, 1,684 technical improvement and production rationalization initiatives have been applied in practice, bringing in hundreds of billions of dong in benefits. Among these, 23 initiatives were recognized at the provincial level, 1,661 at the grassroots level; and 22 outstanding authors were honored with the Creative Labor Award presented by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
What's remarkable is that these initiatives all originate from the practical realities of production and the daily work of the employees. As a result, the ideas are highly practical, helping to improve work processes, increase productivity, ensure workplace safety, advance technology, and boost production efficiency.

These councils are tasked with evaluating, reviewing, and recognizing innovations fairly and transparently. In addition, the trade union plays a connecting role, providing advice and technical support to individuals with innovative ideas, creating the most favorable conditions for workers to participate and maximize their creative potential.
