On October 30th, information from the Investigation Police Department of Hai Duong province indicated that they had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Vu Ba Hung (32 years old, residing in Hamlet 5, Minh Quan commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province, currently living in Co Tan 1 residential area, An Phu ward, Kinh Mon town, Hai Duong province) for the crime of using forged seals and documents of organizations and the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.

According to the investigation results, from 2016 to 2017, Hung worked as a marketer for energy drinks distributed by the High-Quality International Product Import-Export Trading Company Limited (in Ha Tinh ).

Subsequently, Hung proposed becoming an intermediary between the company and distributors/wholesalers to receive a percentage of the profits. However, after receiving money from customers, Hung did not pay the company but spent it on personal expenses, resulting in his inability to repay over 10 billion VND.

To get money to pay off the company's debts, Hung invited Mr. LVB (residing in Kinh Mon town) to invest in an energy drink business. Because Mr. B. had previously lent Hung money and received full repayment of both principal and interest, he trusted Hung and transferred a total of 5.2 billion VND to him.

Hung used part of this money for business investments, and the rest to pay off debts and for personal expenses.

Around April 2022, knowing that Hung was not using the money for business investments as agreed and could not immediately repay it, Mr. B. requested Hung to write a loan agreement with collateral. Hung agreed to write a loan agreement for 5.2 billion VND, with a repayment deadline of June 15, 2022, and collateral consisting of a forged land use right certificate and a car.

When the repayment deadline arrived, Hung was not in the area and could not be contacted by phone. Realizing he had been scammed, Mr. B filed a complaint with the police.

The case is currently being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Hai Duong Provincial Police.
