The Guardian assessed that Ruben Amorim's decision to not retain manager Van Nistelrooy was quite shocking. British media were surprised that manager Van Nistelrooy was not retained.

The Mirror reports that manager Ruben Amorim's decision has the support of the Manchester United board. The 39-year-old will have five assistants: Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido, Emanuel Ferro, goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital, and fitness coach Paulo Barreira. It is expected that Ruben Amorim will also explain his reasons for not retaining Van Nistelrooy in the coming days.
