Area 14, Binh Thuy Ward (formerly Area 3, Bui Huu Nghia Ward) was selected as the pilot area for the 2025 National Unity Day celebration in Binh Thuy Ward on November 16th. This area is a model in all movements, successfully implementing the building of grassroots cultural life and civilized urban lifestyle in the locality.

Branches and organizations in Area 14, Binh Thuy Ward, signed a competition agreement at the National Unity Day celebration.

At the event, 20 disadvantaged households in the area and 18 students who overcame difficulties to excel in their studies and pass university entrance exams received gifts and scholarships from the area and local funds. This is one of the social welfare activities aimed at caring for the lives of the people that the area has maintained well for many years.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Head of the Front Committee for Area 14, said: “In 2025 alone, the area mobilized benefactors to donate 5,000 kg of rice and 250 gift packages to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households during holidays and Tet; mobilized support for disadvantaged people suffering from illness with a total value of 75 million VND; supported 28 people who could not afford health insurance with a total amount of over 35.3 million VND. Furthermore, the area coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to support disadvantaged households and students with loans; introduced 173 people to work in local businesses and catering services… Through these efforts, we have contributed to helping people stabilize their lives and improve their income. Currently, the area has no poor households, only 20 near-poor households.”

In addition, the Youth Union, Women's Association, Red Cross Association, Veterans' Association, etc., all have exemplary models and activities that contribute to building the homeland, such as: "5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards," "Cooking Porridge for Free," organizing Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations for children, supporting people affected by storms and floods, and supporting the people of Cuba...

Above all, the unity and solidarity of the branches, organizations, and people in implementing the 9 criteria and 52 contents of building a civilized urban ward is crucial. A series of meaningful projects and activities have been implemented and maintained regularly, such as: jointly building a bright, green, clean, and beautiful area; general environmental sanitation, clearing the flow of canals and ditches, sorting waste; preventing encroachment on sidewalks and roads... Specifically, the area has upgraded alley 366 and renovated the flagpole with a total cost of over 120 million VND. These models have received positive responses from the people, who have contributed more than 300 days of labor (sweeping and collecting garbage); installed public streetlights and many security cameras; and the Dang Thi Nhuong road has been repaired and renovated, becoming a highlight of the urban landscape...

The movements "All people protect national security" and "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" have been promoted with the active participation of the entire population. As a result, the area has been recognized as a model cultural area, a civilized urban area, and a safe area in terms of security and order. The cultural and spiritual life of the people is increasingly developing through the activities of the Cultural Family Club, the Folk Dance and Sports Club, the "6 No's" Club, the "5 Yes's and 3 Cleanliness" Club, the Intergenerational Self-Help Club, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Xiem, a retired army colonel and former Party Secretary of the area, shared: “As a long-time resident of the area, I clearly feel the daily changes in my hometown. From the muddy alleys of the past, they are now paved with concrete; from makeshift houses, they are gradually being replaced by sturdy houses; from an area with many poor and struggling households, there are no longer any poor households... The gatherings are now warm, joyful, and full of camaraderie. This is the result of the close attention of the Party, the government, and the Fatherland Front; the efforts of each local official; and above all, the unity and solidarity of all the people in building a more developed homeland. Entering a new phase, we, the people of Area 14, will continue to uphold the tradition of solidarity, actively participate in local movements and campaigns; contribute to building a model residential area with a cultured and compassionate life; and help the Party Committee and people of Binh Thuy Ward successfully achieve the goals of development.” "Develop socio -economic aspects, maintain national defense and security, and build the ward into an increasingly civilized, modern, and sustainably developed area."
