Vietnam Airlines encourages passengers to check in online before their flight.

According to forecasts, air travel during the peak holiday period of April 30th may experience congestion, leading to longer-than-normal check-in, security screening, and baggage drop-off times. Therefore, Vietnam Airlines Group encourages passengers to check in online before their flight via the website, mobile app, or hotline 1900.6265 within 24 hours before departure or at self-service kiosks located at the airport. Passengers who have completed check-in and do not have checked baggage can proceed directly to the security screening area to save waiting time.

Notably, from April 28, 2025, Vietnam Airlines will transfer all domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat Airport to the new Terminal 3. However, flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, Rach Gia, Ca Mau, and flights operated by Pacific Airlines and VASCO will continue to operate from Terminal 1 as currently.

Passengers should carefully check the terminal information printed on their tickets, familiarize themselves with the airport map, and plan their travel accordingly to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flight. Terminals T1, T2, and T3 are quite far apart, and travel time can average around 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions. For passengers needing to travel between terminals, especially those with connecting flights, they can use the free shuttle bus provided by Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which runs every 10-20 minutes, or choose other transportation options such as taxis or ride-hailing services.

Vietnam Airlines will transfer all domestic flights at Tan Son Nhat Airport to the new T3 terminal starting from April 28th.

When checking in, passengers must bring valid identification documents such as a national identity card, passport, driver's license, or secondary identification information. Children under 14 years old can use their birth certificate for check-in, while children aged 14 and above are required to use other types of identification documents as prescribed.

In addition, passengers should note that they must not carry prohibited items such as flammable or explosive materials, weapons, or substandard lithium batteries. Carefully checking the baggage list before arriving at the airport will contribute to flight safety and make the check-in process faster and more convenient.

During this peak season, Vietnam Airlines Group will also increase baggage checks, especially for carry-on baggage. Passengers need to check the number of pieces, weight, and dimensions of their baggage to ensure they meet the standards of their ticket class. If passengers need to purchase additional checked baggage beyond the free allowance, they should book at least 6 hours before departure via the website, mobile app, or at official agents.

After completing the check-in process, passengers should proceed directly to the security screening area, ensuring their identification documents and boarding pass are ready, and neatly organizing their belongings to expedite the screening process. Passengers should also regularly monitor the boarding gate information updated on the airport screens.
