Stimulating domestic tourism

To attract tourists, tourism establishments in the province have launched various promotional packages, such as organizing entertainment services. High-end accommodations in the Ham Tien and Mui Ne areas (Phan Thiet City) are particularly offering summer programs for visitors. As summer approaches, domestic tourists are the main market, mostly taking short trips spread throughout the week. Besides organized tours, the number of independent travelers (family and friends) combining sightseeing and outdoor activities has also increased significantly during the summer holidays. Consequently, services such as food and beverage, shopping, spas, and water sports have also increased to meet the growing demand for entertainment and recreation from tourists. According to forecasts, the number of domestic tourists will increase sharply from May to August. From this point onwards, tourism establishments and travel companies have developed attractive promotional packages with competitive prices, diverse programs, guaranteed quality, reputation, and brand, while also implementing flexible cancellation and exchange policies to protect the rights of tourists.

To encourage tourists to visit Binh Thuan and stay longer, tourist destinations and accommodation establishments have created many new products to stimulate tourism demand. Product diversification, especially for food, shopping, and experiences, aims to stimulate consumer spending, with a particular focus on developing the night-time economy to enhance tourist experiences. Besides traditional tourism products such as beach tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, festivals, urban tourism, night tourism, and culinary tourism, based on tourist preferences, tourism establishments are also developing new types of tourism such as high-end resort tourism, ecotourism, sports tourism, and smart tourism. Alongside this, community-based tourism products are also being developed, leveraging local cultural values. In recent years, with the opening of two expressways, the number of domestic tourists visiting Binh Thuan has been steadily increasing year by year. To attract domestic tourists, Binh Thuan province has implemented several solutions to stimulate tourism demand, including accelerating the planning process for the Mui Ne National Tourist Area; issuing a plan to implement the "Orientation for Tourism Development in Binh Thuan Province to 2025, with a vision to 2030" project; a plan to implement the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030 in Binh Thuan province; a decision to issue regulations on the management of tourist areas, tourist destinations, and tourist beaches in Binh Thuan province; and a decision to adjust and supplement the overall tourism development plan for Binh Thuan to 2020, with a vision to 2030. Simultaneously, a plan has been developed to implement solutions for promoting and stimulating tourism in Binh Thuan province during the 2021-2025 period.

Most recently, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and coordinate with agencies, organizations, businesses, and the community to launch the "Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam - My Beloved Vietnam" program in the province. This program includes specific content, new tourism programs, and high-quality service packages aimed at enhancing tourist experiences, diversifying products, and improving service quality. The domestic tourism stimulus program, themed "Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam - My Beloved Vietnam," is an activity implementing the Prime Minister's directive to develop tourism comprehensively, rapidly, and sustainably with the motto: "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized, and friendly destinations." This action also aims to concretize the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister, creating consensus and high levels of agreement in awareness and action among the entire tourism industry, related sectors, localities, businesses, and the people, thereby promoting tourism development.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also requested that tourism service businesses in the area be encouraged, guided, and urged to seriously ensure service quality when participating in stimulus programs. Information should be widely disseminated regarding the operating hours of tourist areas and attractions, as well as tourism products and services in the area, ready to attract tourists during the 2024 summer tourism season.
