Many new features make it attractive.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony of Da Nang's beach tourism season will take place over 9 days, from April 25th to May 3rd, at the East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, and key tourist beaches of the city. According to Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang's tourist beaches, this year's opening ceremony includes 19 main activities, of which 5 are new and 14 are activities maintained from previous years.
The addition of five new activities is a highlight expected to enrich the visitor experience. Among them, the International Pizza Festival, held at the East Sea Park, showcases a fusion of culinary cultures, combined with famous landmarks and historical sites both domestically and internationally, creating a unique "check-in" space.
At the East Sea Park, there will also be an ice cream making experience using Vietnamese rice. This activity is both creative and promotes domestic agricultural products, while also creating a unique highlight for tourists. There, visitors will be able to use various Vietnamese specialty rice varieties such as glutinous rice, Séng Cù Tú Lệ rice, Tây Giang red brown rice, purple glutinous rice, etc., combined with other ingredients to make gelato using Italian technology.
Another notable event was the "Beach Water Fight," held on the afternoon of April 30th, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of a summer festival right on the beach, combining music and interactive games. Beyond entertainment, the program also incorporated a message about protecting the marine environment and promoting sustainable tourism.
Alongside the new activities, many familiar programs continue to be maintained, such as artistic kite displays, sailing demonstrations, the "Summer Waves" swimming competition, the "Vietnamese Flavors" culinary space, and nightly art performances… creating a lively festive atmosphere and meeting the entertainment needs of locals and tourists visiting Da Nang during this major holiday season.

Spreading the message of protecting the marine environment.
Beyond simply organizing events, the 2026 Da Nang beach tourism season places special emphasis on environmental factors. This year's event will feature the first-ever "Son Tra Walking Day," scheduled for May 1st. This new activity is experiential and educational, encouraging locals and tourists to participate in walking and litter cleanup, contributing to raising awareness about the conservation of the Son Tra peninsula ecosystem.
Another key activity is the Marine Environment Day with the theme "Da Nang Beach - Say No to Plastic Waste." Here, students from local universities and residents will participate in cleaning the beach and collecting waste. A "Exchange Waste for Gifts" model will be implemented, encouraging people to exchange plastic waste for environmentally friendly products such as cloth bags, glass bottles, and plants.
According to the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang's tourist beaches, the message of reducing the use of plastic bags, plastic waste, and cigarettes in the beach area will be integrated throughout various activities, from visual communication to interactive programs. "Check-in" areas and festival spaces will also be designed with a "green" theme, creating a natural spread of awareness through the experiences of tourists.
It is clear that the opening program for the 2026 Da Nang beach tourism season is not just a series of recreational activities, but also a significant shift in the city's approach to tourism development. The harmonious combination of experiences, culture, and environmental protection has created a new image – vibrant yet sustainable, modern yet committed to community responsibility. In an increasingly competitive tourism environment, these innovations are key factors in helping Da Nang continue to affirm its position as an attractive, friendly, and livable destination for both domestic and international tourists.
According to the list of most popular destinations for Vietnamese travelers in April, published by the online travel platform Booking.com, coastal cities continue to be the top choice for the "double" holiday of Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and April 30th - May 1st. Specifically, Da Nang leads the top 10 most searched domestic destinations for Vietnamese travelers during the April holiday. Meanwhile, according to data on domestic accommodation searches on the digital travel platform Agoda, searches for accommodation in Da Nang by domestic travelers increased by 89% for the long holiday from the end of April to the beginning of May compared to the same period last year.
