Talking about his idea of establishing a movement fencing club, Vu Thanh An shared: "I have long wanted to develop a movement fencing club to promote this sport to many people. I have traveled to many countries and found that most countries have activities to develop fencing, but in Vietnam it is still very new, which makes me want to popularize fencing."
Before each club practice session, Vu Thanh An arrives early to prepare tools for the exercises. Finding premises to suit the standards of fencing was also quite difficult, but after a period of searching, Thanh An found a suitable location and began welcoming the first members to join the club.
Creating a completely new environment and popularizing fencing to everyone also caused Thanh An to encounter many difficulties.
"An herself has no experience in opening classes, nor does she have a similar model to refer to. Buying equipment focuses on finding students. She is quite worried about not knowing whether the class will be crowded or not. no", Thanh An confided.
At first, the news of Thanh An opening a fencing club was known to his friends. They introduced each other. Thanh An's club welcomed the first members, especially with the presence of some members of the fencing team. Malaysia came for training. Thanh An carefully guides students through every move and technique in fencing. The students in Thanh An's fencing club are quite diverse, from 9-year-olds to people over 50 years old, and even foreigners.

For each age group, Thanh An builds its own methods and lesson plans to help everyone approach fencing in the easiest way. And indeed, fencing has helped many students in the club make positive changes.
"In the club there is a foreign student. At first, he was quite shy. Parents often came to monitor him because the child showed signs of autism. The teaching process should not be forced. After a period of studying, he practiced very hard and made efforts, telling his family that he wanted to pursue fencing for a long time. His shyness gradually disappeared, making him more determined to pursue it. Thanh An shares the story of a student in the club.
Thanh An really hopes to expand his club in the future, creating a playground for many people. Further, there will be sword movement tournaments organized so that everyone can participate in competition, thereby also discovering, foster many talents for the country's fencing.
