(HNMO) - The Ministry of Information and Communications has issued a plan to organize a comprehensive inspection of Tiktok's activities in Vietnam. Specifically, the delegation carried out the inspection at Tiktok Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd and the representative office of Tiktok Vietnam, located in Ho Chi Minh City; Includes 8 items:
Firstly, the observance of regulations on provision of social networking services to domestic users, including: Process of information censorship, user authentication, blocking and removal of information that violates Vietnamese law, and handling user complaints. Distribution algorithm, recommending content to users. The collection, management, storage and use of user data; ensure information safety, network security.
Second, the observance of regulations on advertising.
Third, the management of celebrities, who are active in the field of performing arts on Tiktok (Idol Tiktok).
Fourth, the observance of the provisions of the law on child protection; preventing and combating social evils in cyberspace.
Fifth, evaluate the impact of Tiktok on youth and adolescents.
Sixth, compliance with regulations related to the provision of e-commerce services.
Seventh, the fulfillment of tax obligations.
Eighth, evaluate the impact and influence of the social network Tiktok on the trend and role of mainstream media.
The lead unit is the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, in addition, there are units of the Ministry of Information and Communications: the Ministry Inspector, the Information Security Department, the Press Department, and the Telecommunications Department. The inspection team also included representatives of ministries and branches: Public Security; Industry and Trade; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Finance, Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs; Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications.
Previously, answering questions from the press at a regular press conference in May 5, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information said that starting from May 2023, a comprehensive inspection of Vietnam's Tiktok will be carried out. The inspection process is expected to last until the end of May 15.
