During Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Australia recently, Vietnam and Australia announced the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.
The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is the highest level in Vietnam's foreign relations with other countries around the world. Thus, up to now, Vietnam has had Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships with 7 countries. These include: China (2008), Russian Federation (2012), India (2016), South Korea (2022), United States (September 9), Japan (November 2023) and Australia (11).
