At approximately 11:00 AM on November 30th, a patrol team from the Trieu Van Border Guard Post, Quang Tri Border Guard Command, discovered that the fishing boat belonging to Mr. Le Huu Chuc, residing in Hamlet 7, Trieu Van Commune, was sinking (not completely submerged) while fishing near the shore of Hamlet 9, Trieu Van Commune, Trieu Phong District. There were three fishermen on board: Le Huu Chuc, the boat owner; Le Huu Phuc; and Le Huu Phieu (all residing in Hamlet 7, Trieu Van Commune, Trieu Phong District).

The unit's patrol team assisted two fishermen in swimming safely to shore, promptly reported the incident to the station's command, and, together with the Trieu Van commune authorities, dispatched forces to rescue the remaining fisherman who was clinging to the boat and being pushed further out to sea by the waves.
After nearly an hour, more than 30 officers and soldiers from the Trieu Van Border Guard Post, along with police and militia forces from Trieu Van commune, used ropes to swim out and bring the people and the boat safely ashore.
Reportedly, in recent days, the Trieu Van Border Guard Station has coordinated with the police and militia forces of the commune to educate and encourage fishermen not to go out to sea during bad weather and high waves that endanger people and vessels. They have also deployed a team to regularly patrol the maritime border, promptly detecting and responding to any incidents that may occur.
