VietBank increases interest rates

According to Lao Dong, on August 20, Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank) issued a new interest rate schedule, recording only an increase in one term.

VietBank's online deposit interest rates are currently listed as follows:

1-month term interest rate is 3.6%/year.

3-month term interest rate is 3.8%/year.

6-month term interest rate increased by 0.3 percentage points, at 5.2%/year.

9-month term interest rate at 5.0%/year.

12-month term interest rate is 5.6%/year.

Interest rate for 24-36 month term is 5.9%/year.

After increasing interest rates, VietBank is among the top banks paying the highest interest rates for 6-month terms.

VietBank's counter deposit interest rates are currently listed as follows:

1-month term interest rate is 3.5%/year.

3-month term interest rate is 3.7%/year.

6-month term interest rate is 4.8%/year.

9-month term interest rate is at 4.9%/year.

12-month term interest rate at 5.5%/year.

Savings interest rates increase in some places, decrease in others.

According to Lao Dong, by the end of the first half of August, the market recorded 14 banks increasing savings interest rates. Compared to the same period two months ago, there were nearly 20 banks increasing interest rates in just half a month.

Banks that have increased savings interest rates since the beginning of August include: Eximbank, ACB, Agribank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, VietBank, TPBank, CBBank, VIB, Dong A Bank, VPBank, Techcombank,SHB , VietBank.

However, a few banks have begun to reduce interest rates. Since the beginning of August, the market has recorded 3 banks adjusting "against the trend" to reduce interest rates. Accordingly, the banks that reduced interest rates are mostly banks that previously had the highest interest rates in the market such as ABBank, Bac A Bank , SeABank.
