The conference was chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Mechanical and Electrical Business Association (HAMEE) and the Northwest Saigon Business Association.
In her opening remarks at the conference, Ms. Ho Thi Quyen, Deputy Director of ITPC, noted that the manufacturing industry continues to be the main driving force of the economy , with the value added of the processing and manufacturing sector showing promising growth.
In this context, the need to improve productivity and digitize the value chain has become urgent. Ms. Quyen emphasized that digital transformation, especially the integration of AI into core management systems such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and human resource management (HRM), is a practical solution to help businesses control costs and improve operational capabilities.
Currently, the application of AI in HRM is recognized as significantly reducing recruitment time and optimizing human resource allocation, while also enhancing employee engagement through mobile applications and internal portals. Simultaneously, integrating AI into ERP systems also helps reduce the processing time for business operations.
During the morning session, Mr. Phi Anh Tuan, Head of the Expert Group for Consulting on Digital Transformation for Enterprises and Government (DXCenter), emphasized that the world is investing heavily in AI, and using AI will greatly benefit businesses.
Accordingly, the shift from traditional statistical methods to data analytics and the application of new technologies such as AI and IoT helps businesses accurately plan raw material needs, control actual costs, and forecast cash flow.
However, Mr. Phi Anh Tuan noted that for AI to be effective, businesses need to master their data. Because if the data quality is poor, the AI will also be wrong. But this is a weakness of many Vietnamese businesses.
In the afternoon session, the conference will focus on human resource management and internal knowledge exploitation. Accordingly, experts will introduce technology-based solutions for human resource management (HRM).
