The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that Lam Dong's natural ecosystem, mild climate, and distinctive landscapes, from the sea and flower gardens to the vast forests, are significant advantages compared to many other localities. This also forms the foundation for the province's development in a green and sustainable direction, improving the quality of life and developing ecotourism .

According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi, in recent times, the heavy rains, floods, and natural disasters that have occurred in the province, especially the storms and floods at the end of 2025, have left many severe consequences. One of the causes identified is the decline in green spaces, the impact of climate change, and changes in the natural ecosystem. Therefore, the province has identified tree planting and reforestation as an extremely important task that needs to be implemented decisively, regularly, and over the long term.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2026, the province must strive to plant 2,345 hectares of concentrated forest and 1,650,000 scattered trees. This is a very important goal to increase the green cover of Lam Dong province, and it is also the first year of special significance after the merger of the three provinces.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that tree planting should be carried out in a coordinated manner with multiple objectives such as: planting trees for reforestation, planting flowering trees, ornamental trees, medicinal plants, etc., in accordance with the natural conditions of each region. Each sector and locality needs to study the climate and soil characteristics to select suitable tree species, ensuring effectiveness and creating a sustainable landscape.

“We must ensure that every household plants trees, every person plants trees, and every agency has green spaces and flowers. Every street corner and every road needs to be greened with suitable trees and flowers. With that spirit, I believe we will build a green, beautiful, and distinctive Lam Dong province,” the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Nguyen Thach Thao, a youth representative from Lam Dong province, stated that the youth of Lam Dong will continue to promote the spirit of initiative and volunteerism in environmental protection, planting, and caring for trees. Youth Union branches throughout the province will intensify propaganda efforts to raise awareness among members and young people about the significance of "Tree Planting Festival," creating a vibrant emulation movement with the spirit of "One tree per member - Contributing to a greener life" across Lam Dong province.

"The youth of Lam Dong province have identified this as a key, long-term task and will continue to maintain tree-planting activities and movements to spread environmental protection awareness to all levels of the population, contributing to building a green and sustainable Lam Dong homeland," said youth union member Nguyen Thach Thao.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, provincial leaders, leaders of departments, agencies, political and social organizations, and a large number of youth union members participated in planting 1,000 trees in the Mai Anh Dao park area.
