Clarifying the case of the teacher who used a ruler to beat a student, leaving bruises on both legs.

On the evening of November 13th, Mr. Nguyen The Duc, Vice Chairman of the Duy Xuyen District People's Committee, Quang Nam province, stated that the District People's Committee had directed the District Education and Training Department to investigate the case of a teacher beating a 6th-grade student, leaving bruises on both legs.

According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Sau, Head of the Education and Training Department of Duy Xuyen district, a 6th-grade male student at Le Quy Don Secondary School in Duy Xuyen district was beaten with a ruler by his homeroom teacher, leaving bruises on both legs, after colliding with a classmate during physical education class.

"The teacher hitting the student is unacceptable. We are currently waiting for the teacher's report before assessing the severity of the incident and deciding on disciplinary action," said Mr. Nguyen Huu Sau.

Regarding this matter, Mr. Le Van Tam, Principal of Le Quy Don Secondary School, said that the incident occurred after two students fought. He acknowledged that the teacher acted impulsively when hitting the male student. He said that in this case, she should have invited the parents of both students to discuss the matter. The teacher admitted to using a small ruler to hit the student's leg. This afternoon, the teacher and school representatives visited the student's home to inquire about his condition and accompanied the family to the doctor. The school also requested that the family remove the social media post to avoid further unpleasant incidents involving all parties.

Later that day, the boy's family posted on social media, along with photos of his bruised legs, expressing their outrage. According to the family, the boy initially refused to speak up for fear of having his conduct grade lowered. After persuasion, the boy recounted being hit by his teacher after a physical education class two days prior. The reason given was that he was playing with a plant and accidentally hit another student, leaving marks on their back.
