A year after EURO 2024, Lamine Yamal returned to Germany and once again made France suffer in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League 2024/25.
Lamine Yamal had a brilliant performance, contributing 2 goals, helping Spain beat France in an unbelievable 5-4 scenario.
Nico Williams, Mikel Merino and Pedri scored the remaining three goals for Spain. Meanwhile, France's goals were scored by Kylian Mbappe, Rayan Cherki, Kolo Muani and Vivian's own goal.
With this brilliant performance, Lamine Yamal became the youngest player in history to score a double for Spain.
“France are a very strong team, they make you suffer, that's normal. But we are very happy with this victory,” Yamal looked back at “La Roja's” victory.
Spain will face neighbours Portugal in the Nations League final at the Allianz Arena on Sunday night (2am June 9).
It will be a confrontation between Lamine Yamal, the new generation's number 1 star, and Cristiano Ronaldo - one of the icons of world football.
After Spain 's win in Stuttgart, Lamine Yamal was asked about his motivation when facing Ronaldo.
“Cristiano is a legend and we all have a lot of respect for him, but I will do my job, which is to win the match,” Yamal said in a statement to the Portugal captain.

“We know what people expect from the team, but we have to keep winning,” Yamal said, setting his sights on the final. “The hardest thing in football is to win and keep winning. That’s what we’re trying to do.”
Lamine Yamal has been at the centre of Ballon d'Or talk for some time now. He and Ousmane Dembele are the two favourites to win the award from France Football/UEFA.
When asked about the Ballon d'Or, Yamal responded: "I always tell my mother that the most important thing is to perform on the pitch."
Yamal was awarded the UEFA Man of the Match award. Once again the Ballon d'Or was mentioned.
“I am very happy to have reached the final and won,” said Yamal; “The Ballon d'Or is not the top priority.”
