Apple's announcement on the online store. |
On the afternoon of September 12th (Hanoi time), Apple Store Online in Tier 1 markets simultaneously ceased operations to prepare for pre-orders that evening. These are the first regions in the world to sell iPhones on September 19th.
All Tier 1 markets will open for ordering simultaneously. Depending on the time zone, the ordering period will range from midnight to early morning in various countries.
This is the first year the Vietnamese market has been upgraded to this tier, so domestic users are experiencing the same waiting times as the rest of the world for the online store to open for pre-orders of iPhones. On social media, many customers and business owners are sharing screenshots of the Apple homepage, evoking the feeling of queuing in front of Apple Stores in the past.
In the GMT+7 time zone, Vietnam has one of the most convenient pre-order times. Customers can start purchasing the phone as early as 7 PM on September 12th. Meanwhile, New Zealand, the country that sells iPhones earliest in the world, opened its website at 0 AM on September 13th local time. In the US, customers have to wake up as early as 5 AM (Washington time) to pre-order the iPhone 17 series.
Depending on the time zones of different countries, pre-orders opened at various times. However, in reality, countries that opened pre-orders early all started buying iPhones simultaneously. At exactly 7 PM on September 12th, when Vietnamese users began placing orders, customers in Australia, Japan, the UK, and the US were also doing the same.
However, delivery will be based on local time. Customers in countries with earlier time zones, such as New Zealand and Japan, will receive their devices earlier, typically at 8:00 AM (local time), which is early morning on September 19th in Vietnam. Vietnamese customers will receive their devices a few hours later.
On the evening of September 12th, in addition to Apple Stores in Vietnam, authorized dealers nationwide also officially opened pre-orders for the iPhone 17. These retailers remain familiar places for customers to purchase Apple phones. According to data from major dealers, hundreds of thousands of people have already registered to receive product information since Apple announced the new iPhone.
However, according to Tri Thuc - Znews ' exclusive sources, the initial supply to Vietnam was not substantial. Domestic distributors had to "compete" for supplies with neighboring countries such as Singapore and Thailand.
