As part of the Red Phoenix Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026, the running event, organized by the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Zaha Vietnam Joint Stock Company, holds special significance as it commemorates the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), thereby continuing to spread the movement "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh".

In addition, the event featured many prominent figures in Vietnamese marathon running, such as Pham Thi Hong Le - the owner of numerous SEA Games medals in the 42km distance, and Huynh Anh Khoi - dubbed the "king of marathon running" in Vietnam.
