(To Quoc) - These days, the flower market in Tien Non village (Duong No ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city) is bustling with people, and the locals are excited and happy as they enter a successful Tet flower season.
Duong No Ward is considered one of the largest flower-growing areas in Hue City. There are currently about 900 households engaged in flower cultivation in the ward, concentrated mainly in Tien Non village.
The flower gardens here are cultivated year-round, but the peak season is the Lunar New Year. Flower farming provides employment for local people, with incomes ranging from 40 to 200 million VND per year.
To prepare for the Lunar New Year, flower growers start planting their seeds in the seventh lunar month. By around the middle of the twelfth lunar month, they begin supplying flowers to the market.
Commonly grown flowers include: chrysanthemums, roses, marigolds, peonies, daisies, etc.
To meet the growing market demand, in recent years people have also started growing some imported flower varieties.
According to flower growers, the weather this year has been quite favorable, making the work of planting and caring for flowers less strenuous than in previous years.
Up to now, most of the flower gardens have started to bloom evenly and beautifully, as expected. The flower growers are therefore very excited and happy.
These days, the atmosphere in Tien Non flower village is quite bustling. Many traders come directly to the gardens to buy flowers.
According to the years of experience of some traders, although there are still about 10 days until Tet (Lunar New Year), this is a suitable time to choose and buy flowers. Many types of flowers can be displayed for a long time, and buying them early allows you to comfortably choose healthy, beautiful plants that you like. Besides, it also helps flower growers take an early Tet holiday break.

From Tien Non village, the potted flowers will be transported by traders to various localities, serving the needs of people in Hue City for Tet (Lunar New Year) flower arrangements.
