Lang Son starts construction of sports complex to celebrate 80th National Day

The Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex Project (central stadium and multi-purpose gymnasium) was approved in principle by the People's Council of Lang Son province in Resolution No. 41/NQ-HDND dated November 25, 2021, adjusted in Resolution No. 07/NQ-HDND dated March 24, 2022 and Resolution No. 43/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2023 and the feasibility study report was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2218/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2024.

When completed, this will be a modern, synchronous 28.73ha sports complex, serving the needs of mass and high-performance sports training and competition; qualified to host national and regional sports tournaments; at the same time creating a space for cultural and sports activities, contributing to making Lang Son an important cultural, sports and tourism center of the region.

The project consists of 11 items, of which phase I of the project will invest in the construction of the following items: Multi-purpose gymnasium with 3,000 fixed seats and 1,000 mobile seats; sports training house; athlete housing area; square, training ground, internal traffic roads, parking lots and synchronous technical infrastructure system.

Up to now, the investor, the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, has selected 9/16 bidding packages and approved the design and construction drawings for the leveling project, ensuring full conditions for project implementation.

With a total project investment of VND 500.3 billion, of which the planned capital allocation for 2025 is VND 330 billion, to date, VND 74.1 billion has been disbursed, reaching 22.45% of the plan.

The project requires a total reclaimed area of 28.73 hectares. Up to now, Dong Kinh Ward People's Committee has handed over 1.94 hectares to serve the project's commencement.

Comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province requested the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, construction contractors, and consulting units to promote a sense of responsibility, mobilize maximum resources, organize scientific construction, ensure progress, quality, aesthetics, labor safety and environmental sanitation.

Departments, branches, sectors, Lang Son Provincial Land Fund Development Center, Dong Kinh Ward People's Committee need to continue to coordinate closely, promptly remove difficulties in the project implementation process. In particular, focus on speeding up the site clearance progress to hand over to the construction unit on schedule, ensuring the completion of the project in 2027.

When completed, Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex will be a new symbol of the spirit of sports - solidarity - integration, a community cultural space, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people and a driving force to promote the development of Lang Son urban area to become increasingly civilized and modern.
