Opening ceremony at the school named after the late General Secretary Do Muoi

(Dan Tri) - The opening ceremony at Do Muoi High School took place solemnly with the ceremony of welcoming 484 10th grade students into the hall to join the flag-raising ceremony with more than 26 million students nationwide.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Hanoi will have two more public high schools. These are two rare public schools established in the past five years.

Notably, at the time the Hanoi People's Committee signed the decision to establish these two schools, the 10th grade entrance exam had taken place more than a month before. This meant that the two schools had no enrollment targets and no candidates had registered to enroll in the school.

However, in the announcement of additional benchmark scores on July 18, Do Muoi High School and Phuc Thinh High School were granted quotas by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and were allowed to enroll students across the city.

This is an important decision so that on the morning of September 5, the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026 took place at two new public schools located in Yen So ward (old Hoang Mai district) and Phuc Thinh commune (old Dong Anh district).

These new recruits are also the first generation of students, the core of the new school. The opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year also went down in history as the first opening ceremony, marking the beginning.

In his opening speech, Mr. Do Van Nam - Principal of the school - said: "You are the first people to set foot in this school. Let's consider this an opportunity to build good values ​​together, creating a unique identity for our young school."

Mr. Do Van Nam also sent his thanks to nearly 500 families who chose Do Muoi School when they applied for additional admission. Although the admission was over-the-top with a standard score of 16.5 points, up to 1/5 of the school's students scored above 20 points. The candidate with the highest score was 23.5 points. Compared to the initial target, the number of candidates who were admitted exceeded 88 students.

With about 900 students admitted to Do Muoi and Phuc Thinh schools in the final stage of the 10th grade exam in 2025, the rate of Hanoi students entering high school reached nearly 70%, the highest ever.
