On the morning of May 19th, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province organized the launching ceremony for the 2026 Lai Chau Provincial Action Month for Children with the theme "Happy, safe, and confident children in life..."

Attending the event were Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Child Protection and Care, Chairman of the Provincial Child Protection Fund's Board of Trustees; representatives of leaders from provincial departments, agencies, organizations, and armed forces; representatives of agencies operating in the province; leaders of communes and wards; units and businesses contributing to the Child Protection Fund; over 250 youth union members, students, and 80 children with special circumstances, poor and disadvantaged children with a strong desire to excel in their studies from communes, wards, and the Provincial Comprehensive Social Protection Center...

Comrade Tong Thanh Hai – Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Child Protection and Care, and Chairman of the Provincial Child Protection Fund's Board of Trustees – delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Over the past period, under the special attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the joint efforts of the entire society, the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children in the province has achieved many positive results. From the beginning of the year until now, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund has supported 4,422 children with a total budget of over 3.1 billion VND; organized heart disease screening for more than 2,000 children. At the same time, it has provided nutritional support for preschool children; heart surgery, emergency assistance, and care for children during the Lunar New Year. To date, the Fund has received nearly 3.6 billion VND, including over 690 million VND in cash donations for activities for children.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - requested: "To ensure that the 2026 Action Month for Children truly goes in-depth and yields practical results, Party committees, governments, agencies, units, localities, and the entire society continue to pay attention to and effectively implement the care, education, and protection of children. Strengthen communication efforts, equip children with the necessary digital knowledge, skills, and competencies for comprehensive development, and become safe and responsible digital citizens. Enhance coordination between families, schools, and society in managing, caring for, and protecting children; promptly detect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of violence, abuse, and violations of children's rights. At the same time, mobilize and prioritize the allocation of resources from the entire society to better implement children's rights..."

Comrade Bui Tien Thanh – Director of the Department of Health , Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Child Protection and Care, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Children's Protection Fund Board – launched the fundraising campaign for the Lai Chau Provincial Children's Protection Fund in 2026.

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Bui Tien Thanh - Director of the Department of Health, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Children's Affairs, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lai Chau Provincial Children's Protection Fund - launched the campaign to support the Lai Chau Provincial Children's Protection Fund in 2026.

On this occasion, charitable agencies and organizations donated to the Provincial Children's Protection Fund to help poor children and children with special circumstances, with a total donation of over 700 million VND at the launching ceremony.
