The Buddha's Birthday procession in Ho Chi Minh City featured 16 brightly decorated floats.
The procession of the Buddha's birth statue and the flower palanquin parade mark the beginning of the Buddha's Birthday week in Ho Chi Minh City. This event attracts the attention and participation of numerous monks, nuns, Buddhists, and citizens of the city, all in joyful anticipation of the Buddha's birth.
Accordingly, at 6:30 PM on May 24th (corresponding to the 8th day of the 4th lunar month of the Year of the Horse), after the incense offering ceremony presided over by the Venerable Monks of the Organizing Committee of the Buddha's Birthday Celebration PL.2570, the statue of the newborn Buddha will be carried from the altar at the An Quang ancestral temple on a palanquin.

The procession of ceremonial attendants and flower palanquins from the specialized committees under the Executive Board and the Buddhist sects of Ho Chi Minh City departed from the An Quang ancestral temple (Vuon Lai ward) to the main ceremonial platform of Ho Chi Minh City Buddhism to celebrate Buddha's Birthday 2570 at Vietnam National Pagoda (Hoa Hung ward). The procession will move along the route through the following streets: Su Van Hanh - Ngo Gia Tu - Le Hong Phong extended - 3 Thang 2; then enter the main gate of Vietnam National Pagoda.
According to information from the Organizing Committee, so far 16 flower palanquins with different themes have registered to parade in the procession on the evening of April 8th (lunar calendar).
After the sacred image of the newborn Buddha is placed on the main altar, the venerable monks will perform the traditional ritual of bathing the Buddha.
At 5:30 AM on May 31st (corresponding to the 15th day of the 4th lunar month of the Year of the Horse), the official ceremony of the Great Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist Calendar 2570) was held at the main Buddhist ceremonial platform in Ho Chi Minh City at Vietnam National Pagoda. Prior to that, at exactly 4:00 AM, all monasteries and temples throughout the city simultaneously and solemnly rang the Buddhist bells and drums three times to welcome the Buddha's birth.
Notably, this year, due to changes in administrative boundaries, for the first time, Ho Chi Minh City Buddhism is organizing the Buddha's Birthday Celebration (Buddhist calendar 2570) at three main ceremonial venues, at three different times.
