This is the earliest established communal house – an important gathering place and symbol of the vows and alliances of Vietnamese people from all regions who came to live in Buon Ma Thuot. The communal house serves both as a center for cultural and spiritual activities and as a place of worship for Dao Duy Tu, the first founding national hero, who was bestowed the title of Village Guardian Deity of Lac Giao by the Nguyen Dynasty in 1932. The communal house also commemorates the contributions of the Phan Ho ancestors who founded the village and the communal house in its early days.
For many years, the cultural sector of Dak Lak province and the people of Buon Ma Thuot ward have proudly preserved, protected, and promoted the historical and cultural values of Lac Giao Temple. Among these, the annual Autumn Sacrifice Ceremony is a ritual of thanksgiving to heaven and earth, the local guardian deities, and ancestors who have blessed the land with favorable weather, national peace and prosperity, and successful livelihoods. The Autumn Sacrifice Ceremony, deeply rooted in Vietnamese traditional culture and preserved for generations, is a source of pride for the land and people of Dak Lak in general, and Buon Ma Thuot ward in particular.
