Formula for calculating admission scores
Candidates should note the formula for calculating admission scores for 10th grade in non-specialized public high schools for the 2023-2024 school year as provided by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to proactively prepare for the exam and calculate their admission scores.
The formula is as follows:
Admission score = (Mathematics exam score + Literature exam score) x 2 + Foreign language exam score + Priority points (if any).
In this system, exam scores for each subject are calculated on a 10-point scale. Regarding the admission principles, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training clearly stipulates: Admission will be based on the number of candidates who have applied to the school, selecting them in order of admission scores from highest to lowest until all available slots are filled. The Department will only consider students who have completed all required exams, have not violated exam regulations to the point of having their exam results invalidated, and do not have any exam with a score of 0.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the city currently has 129,210 ninth-grade students. These students will participate in the junior high school graduation examination for the 2022-2023 school year.
Hanoi plans to enroll approximately 72,000 students in 10th grade at public high schools, representing 55.7% of the total enrollment.
