SOLEMN COMMEMORATION OF THE 233RD ANNIVERSARY OF EMPEROR QUANG TRUNG'S DEATH (1792 - 2025)
On the morning of September 20, 2025 (corresponding to the 29th day of the 7th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province solemnly organized the 233rd anniversary commemoration of Emperor Quang Trung (1792 - 2025) at the Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple, a special national historical site (Block 1A, Tay Son commune, Gia Lai province).

Attending the memorial ceremony were: Comrade Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Chau Ngoc Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former provincial leaders; leaders of the 15th Army Corps Command, the 34th Army Corps Command, the 2nd Division of Military Region 5, the 368th Artillery Brigade of Military Region 5, the Regional Defense Command; leaders of provincial departments, agencies, associations and organizations; businesses in the province; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of the People's Committees of communes and wards in the province; leaders of Tay Son commune; leaders of Dong Da ward ( Hanoi City). The event was attended by representatives from the former Binh Dinh province, the Tay Son hometown association in various provinces and cities; leaders of universities and colleges in the province; representatives of ethnic groups and religious institutions in the province, along with a large number of local people and tourists.

Mr. Huynh Van Loi, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, delivered a speech paying tribute to the achievements of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
Delegates observed a moment of silence to express their profound gratitude for the immense contributions of Emperor Quang Trung.

The 233rd anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung's death was solemnly celebrated according to traditional rituals, accompanied by rich cultural and artistic activities held at the Quang Trung Museum, such as: a folk cake-making competition organized by the Women's Union in coordination with the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; a competition for decorating offering trays to the King organized by the Tay Son Commune People's Committee; lion dance and traditional Tay Son martial arts performances; and a performance of special excerpts from Binh Dinh's Bai Choi art praising the glorious Tay Son Dynasty, entertaining a large number of local people and tourists.
The leader of the Provincial Women's Union delivered the opening speech at the Traditional Cake Making Contest.
Ms. Do Thi Dieu Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented the first prize to congratulate the participating team.
Following the tradition of "Drinking water, remembering the source," every year on the 29th day of the 7th lunar month, the commemoration ceremony for Emperor Quang Trung is solemnly held according to traditional rituals. The ceremony is an opportunity for the people of Tay Son and the entire nation to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue, expressing gratitude and admiration for the merits of the King and the heroes of the Tay Son dynasty who wholeheartedly served the country and its people. It also contributes to educating today's young generation about patriotic traditions, national pride, and the importance of building a more prosperous and beautiful homeland.
