Tony Leung was moved to tears when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Venice Film Festival.
At the awards ceremony, the 61-year-old actor was moved to tears by the prolonged and enthusiastic applause from the audience. "The award is like a dream come true," Tony Leung told Reuters.
This Asian film star gained international recognition for his roles in films directed by Wong Kar-wai, such as "In the Mood for Love," released in 2000, and "2046," released in 2004.
He also appeared in the trilogy of films that won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival - A City of Sadness (1989), Cyclo (1995) and Lust, Warning (2007).

Speaking to reporters before the ceremony, the actor said that acting had helped him become less shy. “I used to suppress all my emotions. I couldn’t express my feelings fully in front of others,” he said.
Tony Leung also discussed his upcoming project, the Hong Kong action-crime film The Goldfinger , which will be released later this year. In the film, he will reunite with Andy Lau, his co-star from the hit 2002 film Infernal Affairs .
He also shared that he will soon face a major challenge: participating in his first European film, *Silent Friend*, directed by Ildikó Enyedi of Hungary. "I plan to spend about eight months preparing for the film. I will be playing a neuroscientist . Therefore, I have to read a lot of books and study continuously at university," he shared.
