Participating in the program Vietnamese Family Warmth led by MC Duong Hong Phuc, singer My Le and singer Dat Long Vinh contributed nearly 100 million VND for orphaned children.
Pham Phu Quy (2010), is a 9th grade student at Tan An Thanh Secondary School, Binh Tan District, Vinh Long Province. His name is Phu Quy, but his life has never been as full and happy as other children. When he was 3 months old, his mother left home. At that time, Phu Quy was taken in by his aunt (grandmother's younger sister).
When Phu Quy was 3 years old, his biological father took him to Dong Nai to live with him. It seemed that having his father by his side would make up for his childhood deprivation. But ironically, 6 years later, Phu Quy's father passed away from liver cancer. In an instant, he became alone, without any relatives by his side.
At this time, my aunt, Mrs. Truong Anh Thuy (1956), once again opened her arms to welcome Quy back to take care of him. The family was near-poor, Mrs. Thuy did all kinds of jobs to support Quy. The two of them lived in a seriously degraded house, with a leaky metal roof and a stuffy space. When it rained, all the things in the house got wet. The house had no light bulbs, the electrical wires were damaged, so it was always dark. Many times, the two of them had nothing to eat, just plain rice to get through the day.
Previously, Ms. Thuy earned money by sewing handbags, then switched to weaving water hyacinths to earn 5,000 - 10,000 VND/product. Ms. Thuy's health is not good, she has stage 4 liver cancer and colon cancer. Ms. Thuy recently had intestinal surgery and is still undergoing continuous chemotherapy so she cannot work much. Ms. Thuy is very afraid that she does not have much time left, cannot fight the disease and leave Quy alone once again.
Phu Quy is an orphan, so he receives a monthly allowance of 750,000 VND. In addition, due to his outstanding academic achievements, he also received the Tran Dai Nghia scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year with an amount of 1,000,000 VND/semester. He also won third prize in the district-level English competition for excellent students and is currently preparing for the provincial-level excellent student competition. In addition, he is also regularly awarded.
Phu Quy feels proud when his studies have achievements, receiving a scholarship to help women in some way in life. Despite lacking both material and spiritual things, he always tries to study hard every day. For him, the shortest path to success and earning a lot of money is the path of education. He has a dream of becoming an English teacher, earning a lot of money to repay his grandmother - whom he considers his second mother.
At the Vietnamese Family Home program, Phu Quy appeared alone because his aunt had just had liver surgery 2 days ago and was still being treated in the hospital. The image of the boy without parents to care for him, standing alone because his only relative was also facing a terrible disease made many people feel sorry.
MC Duong Hong Phuc was moved by the hardships that Phu Quy had to face. The male MC noticed that Phu Quy was wearing a broken sandal to the studio, but he did not feel self-conscious and was always worried about his aunt's health. Duong Hong Phuc was also worried about Mrs. Thuy's health, hoping that she would get well soon and return home to continue to be a solid support for Phu Quy.
Singer My Le also expressed her admiration for Phu Quy's independence when living in a life of deprivation but he still tried to study and studied very well. She believes that with the spirit of overcoming difficulties, Phu Quy will have success in the future.
Singer Dat Long Vinh was moved by Phu Quy's determination. To him, a child who no longer has parents but still has the will to rise up, has a dream of becoming a teacher and always tries to study hard to make that dream come true is truly admirable. The male singer gave many words of encouragement and motivation to Phu Quy to continue striving for the good things in life.
In addition to sharing and encouraging the characters, singer My Le and singer Dat Long Vinh also contributed to the challenges, helping the children bring home valuable prizes from Hoa Sen Group . After the competitions, Pham Phu Quy's family came in third place, receiving 18 million VND. Phan Van Thien's family came in second place, receiving 22 million VND. Nguyen Trong Huu's family came in first place, completing the special challenge and bringing home a prize of 55 million VND.
Previously, singer Dat Long Vinh gave each family 5 million VND, and Nguyen Trong Huu's family received his entire fee from this week's recording. MC Duong Hong Phuc decided to give all his fee from the recording to all 3 families. Singer My Le used her own money to give each family an additional 10 million VND.
In addition, benefactors and local people also joined hands to donate more than 65 million VND to all 3 families. Thus, episode 133 of the program Vietnamese Family Home has donated more than 160 million VND, of which, the bonus from Hoa Sen Group is 95 million VND.
