With an unbeaten record in their last 55 Premier League midweek matches (47 wins, 8 draws), it was no surprise that Man City took a proactive approach against Fulham. Within the first 10 minutes, Phil Foden came close to scoring twice. The home side continued to press for the remainder of the first half and were rewarded in the 24th minute when a poor defensive header from Sander Berge allowed Antoine Semenyo to coolly finish, scoring his 13th Premier League goal of the season.
Fulham nearly equalized shortly afterwards, but Harry Wilson's low shot was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma. This save proved crucial as Man City doubled their lead in the 30th minute. Semenyo continued to impress with a perfectly placed pass to Nico O'Reilly, who calmly finished to beat Bernd Leno.
Buoyed by their momentum, the home team scored a third goal before halftime, when Erling Haaland unleashed a familiar strike from outside the penalty area into the bottom corner of the net, making it 3-0 and sealing the outcome of the match.

After scoring in 13 of their last 14 Premier League matches, Fulham tried to regain control of the game in the second half, but Emile Smith Rowe and Raul Jimenez both failed to capitalize on half-hearted opportunities. Meanwhile, Man City maintained complete control of the game as the second half progressed, and manager Pep Guardiola took advantage of the opportunity to rotate his squad, resting several key players.
Ultimately, the match slowed down in the final minutes. Although Fulham created some late pressure, Man City easily secured the victory, extending their unbeaten home run in the Premier League to 12 matches (10 wins, 2 draws) and continuing to put significant pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table.
