Man Utd lost to Nottingham Forest at City Ground

Man Utd's inconsistent form continued this season when coach Ten Hag's team lost 1-2 at Nottingham Forest in round 20 of the Premier League.

In midweek, Man Utd had an impressive comeback against Aston Villa, winning 3-2. It was thought that this would be the fulcrum for coach Ten Hag's team to regain stable form, but once again this season, Man Utd were unstable after an impressive match.

The "Red Devils" played poorly against Nottingham Forest and suffered a 1-2 defeat at City Ground in round 20 of the Premier League.

Entering the match at City Ground, Nottingham tried to play offensively, the home team needed points to compete for relegation.

Coach Nuno Santo's players had a very positive attitude. Although Nottingham did not control the ball more than Man Utd, they were far superior to the visitors in terms of the number of shooting opportunities.

Nottingham's finishing in the first 45 minutes did not really threaten goalkeeper Onana's goal, however, overall, it was still better than Man Utd's.

The "Red Devils" were "sleepy" in the first 45 minutes. On a day when the trio of Rashford, Antony and Garnacho were placed together, they did not have good cohesion and only had one shot in the first half.

The home team's attacking efforts were rewarded in the 62nd minute. Nottingham players coordinated from the right wing to the inside, Dominguez received the ball at the top of the penalty area in an unmarked position, he comfortably finished the ball into the left corner of the goal, leaving Onana just standing there watching.

Man Utd tried to fight back after conceding the goal, but the visitors' attack was not impressive. In the 78th minute, goalkeeper Turner made a serious mistake when he passed the ball too lightly, allowing Garnacho to successfully intercept the ball. The Argentinian player passed the ball to Rashford and Man Utd's number 10 cushioned the ball diagonally to score the equalizer 1-1.

Man Utd rushed forward to attack in search of another goal but were quickly counter-attacked. In the 82nd minute, Gibbs-White made a curling shot from the edge of the penalty area, sending the ball spiraling to the right, Onana flew but could not block it.

Once again, Man Utd's defense was in trouble as the visitors' midfielders let the opposition's second line run wild.

Nottingham played solidly for the second time in a row and successfully defended the 2-1 lead. This was the second consecutive victory for the home team at City Ground under new coach Nuno Santo. Nottingham currently has 20 points, ranked 15th, 5 points above the relegation zone.

After round 20 of the Premier League, Man Utd still has only 31 points, ranking 7th. There is a possibility that Man Utd will drop to 9th if Brighton and Newcastle win.
