Around noon, the sky suddenly turned stormy with heavy rain and strong winds. The Hoang Tan commune police checked their cameras connected to the sea and discovered a local resident in distress at sea. The commune police immediately deployed forces and vehicles to the sea and successfully rescued the person in distress…
The lucky person rescued was Mr. Nguyen Van Bong from Hamlet 5, Hoang Tan Commune. Still shaken, Mr. Bong shared: "When the storm subsided, I saw a raft with a camera and waved. A little while later, a boat from the commune police appeared and helped me just in time. If it weren't for the police's coordination, we wouldn't have been able to ask anyone for help."
After the heavy rain, Hoang Tan commune returns to its bustling rhythm of life. Here, the people mainly live by aquaculture and fishing, constantly facing unpredictable weather conditions and potential security and order issues at sea. Therefore, the appearance of smart cameras in the vast ocean, from the "Digital Connection - Keeping the Sea Peaceful" model, has become a powerful assistant for every fisherman who works at sea.
According to Lieutenant Vu Huu Tuan, Head of the Hoang Tan Commune Police, Arising from the practical needs of an area with a vast coastline, a small police force, limited equipment, and the risks of theft and natural disasters, the unit recognized the need for a smart model and solution to help commune police forces monitor and manage the maritime area. The solution had to be most beneficial to the people and contribute to ensuring security and order at sea for the commune police force. Based on this, Hoang Tan Commune Police developed the model "Digital Connection - Keeping the Sea Peaceful".
Shortly after implementing the model, the commune police successfully persuaded 25 households to install 25 surveillance cameras in the oyster and clam farming areas offshore. The camera system is directly connected to the commune police station, enabling the police force to proactively monitor and detect unusual situations early, promptly addressing violations of the law and contributing to maintaining security and order at sea.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bong added: " We feel very secure having security cameras here to support our aquaculture activities. The commune police and the people work together to ensure security and order in the aquaculture area of the town. We, the people, wholeheartedly agree with and support this model."
Cameras at sea are connected to the mainland over a vast geographical distance, making travel very difficult. Therefore, the commune police worked together with the people to install the cameras, encouraging and gaining the people's strong support and cooperation.
“The interests of the people must be prioritized, using their interests as a benchmark and the digital transformation model as a tool. The commune police force needs to dare to think, dare to act, and be bold in the digital transformation process. When the connection between the interests of the people and the tasks of the police is strong, creating high consensus, then any task will succeed, and any model will bring the greatest victory,” shared Lieutenant Vu Huu Tuan, Head of Hoang Tan Commune Police.
Acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of the commune police in innovating and advising the local Party committee and government on solutions to ensure security and order, Mr. Duong Van Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Tan commune, said that this model is a prime example of concretizing the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW into the reality of the commune. The greatest achievement of the model is the people's support. The people have joined the government in protecting the sea, from being passive to actively monitoring, providing information, and protecting their own property. This is not just a technical solution, but an intelligent coordination mechanism between the people and functional forces, for the development of the locality.
This model not only contributes to building a solid people's security posture at sea, but also serves as a typical highlight in the digital transformation process at the grassroots level, affirming the core role of regular commune police in ensuring security and order associated with sustainable marine economic development.
