"God's eye" in Dak Ha district

In recent years, the deployment of security and order surveillance cameras has helped Dak Ha district authorities handle many cases of law violations, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.

Implementing the policy of the Steering Committee for crime prevention and control, social evils and building a movement for the whole people to protect security and order (ANTT) in Dak Ha district on promoting the application of science and technology in ensuring security and order, Dak Ha district police have proactively advised local Party committees and authorities to organize propaganda and mobilize individuals and organizations in communes and towns to contribute and socialize funding sources to invest in and install ANTT camera systems to serve crime prevention and control work in the area.

Fully aware of the role and importance of the security camera model in crime prevention and control, many individuals and organizations have voluntarily contributed funds with local authorities to invest in and install dozens of cameras in areas and locations with many potential complex factors such as traffic intersections, market areas, public places, and crowded roads. Up to now, in Dak Ha district, 100% of communes and towns have installed and put into operation the security camera model with 48 security cameras of the police force and hundreds of "magic eyes" contributed by the people installed on many roads and residential areas.

Dak Ha town and some communes along Ho Chi Minh road are densely populated areas with many drug addicts and thieves, so there are always potential for complicated developments, requiring the authorities and people to always raise their vigilance to prevent and combat crimes and social evils. However, since the security cameras were installed, there has been no more gathering to quarrel and fight, so people here are now very secure.

Mr. Nguyen Van Cong (in Dak Hring commune) said that in the past, some people from other places occasionally gathered in the commune, collected debts, and fought. The situation of teenagers participating in traffic without helmets, weaving and swinging often occurred at night, but since the installation of a security camera system in the area, this situation no longer exists. Also since the installation of security cameras, traffic accidents at black spots in the commune have not occurred as frequently as before.

After a period of implementation, along with the positive response from the people, units and businesses, up to now, Dak Ha district has "covered" security surveillance cameras throughout the residential areas, with a total cost of hundreds of millions of VND. Camera systems inside agencies, units and households are also constantly being added and installed. All data from the public security camera system is connected to the Dak Ha District Police for monitoring and processing. It is worth mentioning that along the roads from Dak Ha town to Ha Mon commune and Ngoc Wang commune, the entire cost of installing this camera system is voluntarily contributed and installed by the people and some agencies and enterprises in the area.

Major Nguyen Ba Thang - Captain of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Dak Ha District Police said: The implementation of the security camera surveillance model in Dak Ha District is of great significance in the prevention and fight against all types of crimes. Most of the recorded camera data helps the authorities identify and evaluate the subjects correctly, serving the investigation and arrest of criminals, accurately handling cases of security and order, especially cases related to traffic order and safety occurring in the area. In addition, the installation of security camera surveillance systems also has a direct impact, helping people to raise their awareness of law enforcement. On roads with cameras installed, the situation of people violating traffic laws or gathering in large numbers no longer occurs frequently. Previously, Dak Ha district had an average of 15-20 traffic accidents per year, but since the installation of security cameras, traffic accidents in the area have decreased significantly. Since the beginning of the year, there have only been 2 traffic accidents in the area. Thanks to the security camera system, in 100% of traffic accidents, the authorities have quickly identified the cause and the violator to handle the right person and the right crime.

With these positive results, the public camera model for security and order monitoring in Dak Ha district has been supported by the people, who voluntarily contributed funds to install and maintain the model in some residential areas. This model has truly become a powerful assistant, helping the police force speed up the investigation and solving of cases and limit the situation of causing insecurity and order in the locality.
