Over the years, the deployment of security camera surveillance systems has helped law enforcement agencies in Dak Ha district handle many cases of law violations, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
In line with the policy of the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention, Social Evils Control, and the Development of the National Movement for Security and Order Protection in Dak Ha District, regarding the promotion of science and technology application in ensuring security and order, the Dak Ha District Police have proactively advised local Party committees and authorities to organize propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage individuals and organizations in communes and towns to contribute and socialize funding for the investment and installation of security camera systems to serve crime prevention and control in the area.
Recognizing the role and importance of security camera systems in crime prevention and control, many individuals and organizations have voluntarily contributed funds alongside local authorities to invest in and install dozens of cameras in areas and locations with potential risks, such as traffic intersections, markets, public places, and busy roads. To date, 100% of communes and towns in Dak Ha district have installed and put into operation security camera systems, with 48 cameras installed by the police force and hundreds of additional cameras installed by citizens along various roads and residential areas.

The town of Đăk Hà and several communes along the Ho Chi Minh Highway are densely populated areas with many drug addicts and thieves, thus always posing potential risks and requiring law enforcement and residents to remain vigilant in preventing and combating crime and social vices. However, since the installation of security cameras, there have been no more incidents of groups gathering to fight, so residents here now feel much safer.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cong (from Dak Hring commune) said that previously, some individuals from other areas would occasionally gather in the commune to collect debts, cause fights, and engage in brawls. The situation of young people riding motorcycles without helmets, swerving, and weaving through traffic often occurred at night, but since the installation of security cameras in the area, this situation has ceased. Also, since the installation of security cameras, traffic accidents at accident hotspots in the commune no longer occur as frequently as before.
After a period of implementation, and with the positive response from the people, units, and businesses, Dak Ha district has now "covered" all residential areas and neighborhoods with security surveillance cameras, with a total cost of hundreds of millions of VND. The camera systems inside agencies, units, and households are also continuously being supplemented and installed. All data from the public security camera system is connected to the Dak Ha District Police for monitoring and processing. Notably, along the roads from Dak Ha town to Ha Mon and Ngoc Wang communes, the entire cost of installing these cameras was voluntarily contributed by the people and some agencies and businesses in the area.
Major Nguyen Ba Thang, Head of the Traffic Police and Public Order Team of Dak Ha District Police, said: "The implementation of the security camera surveillance model in Dak Ha district has great significance in preventing and combating various types of crime. Most of the data recorded by the cameras helps authorities accurately identify and assess suspects, effectively assisting in the investigation and apprehension of perpetrators, and accurately handling cases related to public order and safety, especially those related to traffic safety in the area. In addition, the installation of the security camera surveillance system also directly impacts and helps people improve their awareness of complying with the law. On roads where cameras are installed, traffic violations and large gatherings of people no longer occur as frequently." Previously, Dak Ha district experienced an average of 15-20 traffic accidents per year. However, since the installation of security cameras, the number of traffic accidents in the area has decreased significantly. From the beginning of the year until now, only two traffic accidents have occurred in the district. Thanks to the security camera system, in 100% of traffic accidents, authorities have been able to quickly identify the cause and perpetrators, ensuring that the right people are punished for their crimes.
With these positive results, the public security camera model in Dak Ha district has received widespread support from the people, who have voluntarily contributed funds to install and maintain the model in several residential areas. This model has truly become a valuable tool, helping the police force to expedite investigations, solve cases, and reduce instances of public disorder in the locality.
