This year, Vietnam is among the countries that sell early and deliver daily, but due to the time zone difference, it is before the US, from September 19. Immediately after opening for pre-orders, the iPhone 17 Pro Max quickly sold out. By 7:05 p.m. on September 12, users were no longer able to reserve a slot to receive the product on September 19. At domestic dealers, the product also quickly ran out of options to get it early. Some units also listed prices and sold warranty packages for users who wanted to receive the iPhone 17 Pro Max on September 19.

However, other models launched at the same time do not face the same situation. For example, the black iPhone Air model or the 512 GB/1 TB memory versions are all available for delivery on September 19. At the ShopDunk dealer, the iPhone Air price is also 500,000 VND lower than the price listed by Apple.
The 512 GB iPhone 17 can also be received early when purchased through Apple Store Vietnam. According to a survey by Tri Thuc - Znews , these two models are still available for delivery on September 19 for customers in need, not as scarce as the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max.
The situation is not unique to Vietnam. According to a report by Citi Group, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the most expensive model in the lineup, is the most popular choice. Delivery times for this version are also prolonged, followed by the Pro model.
This shows that the trend of consumers willing to pay for devices with outstanding features and performance has not decreased. In contrast, the new iPhone Air model has received little attention, partly because the price is not attractive compared to the configuration.
The “regular” iPhone 17 also performs worse than its predecessor in Western markets like the UK and US.
In Vietnam, the iPhone Pro Max is always the most sought-after version in each release. Domestic dealers said the pre-order rate for this model is overwhelming, currently at 70-80%.
Meanwhile, the iPhone model has a long life cycle and is popular when there are price reductions. In Vietnam, the product can be sold for 3-4 years, ensuring long-term business performance.
