At the end of the first six months of 2024, the total assets of the entire MB Group showed a growth of nearly 5% compared to 2023, reaching VND 988,605 billion. Customer loan balances increased by 10.3% compared to 2023, a high growth rate compared to the industry average; pre-tax profit reached VND 13,428 billion, a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023; pre-tax profit of the bank alone reached VND 13,168 billion, a 10.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. MB's efficiency and safety indicators remained stable with ROA reaching approximately 2.33%; ROE reaching approximately 23.17%.
MB maintains strict control over credit quality, with the group-wide non-performing loan ratio at 1.64%, and the bank's ratio at 1.43%. MB continues to maintain a market-leading CASA (current account savings account) ratio of approximately 38.83% thanks to its large customer base and digital transaction channels. This advantage helps MB save on input capital costs and significantly increase business efficiency. The bank's CIR is approximately 27.40%, demonstrating effective cost management; and it saves approximately 3.22% on capital mobilization costs (COF).
Adhering to its target of 30 million customers and with a standardized information technology platform, in the first six months of 2024, MB attracted an additional 1.8 million new customers, bringing the total number of customers the bank serves to 28 million. Comprehensive digital transformation facilitated approximately 1.6 billion financial transactions via digital channels (1.7 times more than the same period in 2023), achieving a digital transformation rate of 99.3%; MB's money transfer transaction volume through NAPAS ranked first in the system for three consecutive years (2021-2023).
With a customer-centric approach, creating value through exceptional experiences based on customer needs and expectations, MB is launching the first MasterCard Hi Cashback card series, allowing customers to flexibly choose cashback areas and manage their expected cashback flow immediately after making transactions.
